The same options is available with matrox also BTW...
And ATI driver SUX BIG TIMES!
(not personnal, i had very bad experience with ATI)
My G450 is perfect, and message appears always in the middle of one OR the other screen. Go check in the Display panel -> Advanced -> there is a check box called 'show menus in visible part of the screen'.
I never had ANY trouble at all with my last 4 matrox i had, started with Mstique 220, then Marvel G200, Marvel G400 and now Millunium G450... The next one will be a 4view! Matrox for working is the best, better color, better 2d acceleration than most other card (except some GeForce), but it is true that 3d is crappy... But i'm not a gamer, so i don't care.

I have G450 and G400, they things you name are also user definable on the Matrox' : pop-up in center of monitor where mouse is, in fixed monitor, in monitor from host progam, in middle of 2 all displays,...On 2001-11-28 17:44, JoeKa wrote:
That´s one of the reasons why I chose the ATI Radeon instead of the Matrox, because they´re shipping their cards with the Appian Hydravision software that makes multi-screen setups more "intelligent" and shows such messages centered on one of the two monitors...
In XSetup you can even adjust font, colours,...

I've also had very horrible experiences with ATI drivers. Even with their latest and most expensive product the 8500, they delivered it on the retail market with about half the features still not implemented! Now a few months later, it's barely fully functional but showing a ton of promise. ATI has burned me a lot in the past with their drivers, so I stay away as far as possible. It's all about Matrox(2D) or nVidia(3D) for graphics... in my opinion.
