I've bought a Pulsar XTC recently.
If I record an audio track in Logic Audio 4.8.1 and I insert a XTC
effect in it, it works OK.
If I insert no effect, route the audio track output to a bus and
insert the FX in the bus, I get an unacceptable delay. I have DSP
latency compensation on. It happens both when using MME or ASIO.
Does anybody have any suggestion for this?
I'm starting to think that this XTC is the worst thing I could have
spent my money in.

Thanks in advance

Well, without an IO plate or a real software (like luna or pulsar), i must agree now that XTC is almost useless, but all is not lost. If you get a small Luna you'll get all the benefit from 9 DSP, plus a real software for routing with 0 latency.

Don´t know about Logic, but Cubase compensates at least the XTC send effects and, since version 5.1, the channel-inserted XTC effects too. Not the synths, but these I use under the Luna OS anyway. Effects inserted into Cubase groups don´t get compensated, independently of being XTC, VST or directx ones.
Thanks for listening.

you will have to put a "delay modual" when u use effects
I'm still seeing new things in life.

Thanks you all for your tips... That Luna & 9 dsp does sound good, but is seems somewhat expensive, at least for my current budget. But... What is that "delay modual" stuff, dxl? Some feature from the XTC configuration or something I Should found in Logic?

Thanks
