Use balanced audio cable/microphone cable twisted pairs/shielded.
I did,- have single MIDI cables as well as MIDI-multicore for live gigging.

In the home studio I have a industrial data transmission cable (multicore) on Harting plugs w/ stageboxes (16 MIDI DIN connectors).
That´s 48 streaked, twisted pairs individually shielded (- and individually grounded too, which might not really necessary).

It was expensive but payed off over the time in use.
We build that in the 80s for touring and it worked like a charme for all the decades.
It connects 2 Syco Systems Sycologic M16 MIDI matrix switchers, both w/ independend Syco M16R remote controllers.
One of these matrix switchers (the one in one of my big racks) has a SycoM16X output expander connected,- enough MIDI outs for all the MIDI gear coming and going.

Cool, and thanks. Hinton seems to be really specific.
I will use mic cable since this is a simple 8 foot MIDI Snake for the Physis K4.
Can't believe they don't make these anywhere.

I've seen some 20 foot 6 x MIDI and other useless sizes.
Which is why I decided to make my own with Nuetrik connectors 1.59 each.

It will be an 8 foot long 8 x MIDI snake, with couplers on each end for the final destinations.
Various lengths to reach the rack or hardware out front, or the drummers rack, etc.

Just finished the custom Pedal snake.
8 x 6 foot male to female TS.
And again the snake hits the ground and can fan out for whatever other connections are needed.

I like custom.
I like building stuff too.

Some ass wipe said he makes custom lengths for MIDI so I said shoot me a price and he wanted 165 USD for 8 x 8 foot cables.

So being custom sometimes means actually having to learn something.
Good...
