Can't be happier to always keep spare PCs and spare hardware.
Recently had my Master Controller take a dump.
Had 12 hours to re program an entire evenings songs.
Luckily I kept the barely capable Casio PX3S and thank God for the BCF2000.
Each preset on the BCF had a songs settings.
Using a total of 62 CCs I programmed the vocalists FX our lights and all of my shit too.
If you have a BCF don't ever sell it for a fancy lookin LED surface.
They will eventually quit blinking.
The BCF will last for decades.
Best little surface I ever bought.

Re: BCF2000
What exactly happened to your Physis K4 ?dawman wrote: Recently had my Master Controller take a dump.
Did it happen when performing on stage ?
You say you had to reprogram everything,- don´t you have backups of the K4,- did it refuse loading or was the formerly saved backup file corrupted ?
Do you still think it´s a reliable machine ?
just only interested ...

Re: BCF2000
Very reliable performer.
I had a non FAT32 USB stick installed in it that somehow screwed up the software.
Support sent a UPS Label so a stateside tech can repair or replace the unit for free.
Not sure yet why it got frozen but viscount has been very helpful so far.
Casio PX is so rudimentary compared to the K4.
Really spoiled me.

good to know !dawman wrote:Very reliable performer.
Well ... from the manual ...dawman wrote: I had a non FAT32 USB stick installed in it that somehow screwed up the software.
NOTICE ON USB DRIVES
• Only use USB pens formatted with FAT or FAT32 file system (not NTFS).
Great, sounds like their user support works.dawman wrote: Support sent a UPS Label so a stateside tech can repair or replace the unit for free.
See above,- I now wonder if your USB stick was NTFS formatted,- was it ?dawman wrote: Not sure yet why it got frozen ...
Otherwise I don´t understand too,- especially when it was FAT16 which should work.
Did you contact Viscount in italy directly or via a US distributor,- and was it quick ?dawman wrote: ... but viscount has been very helpful so far.
I´m really interested in this controller but it´s nowhere on display to play and try it out.
Meanwhile I hate buying online and return ...
There´s some kind of disappointment always when I do,- and in the past when Viscount owned the Oberheim brand, it was a bit disappointing too.
Oh yeah,- alone feature wise night and day !!!dawman wrote: Casio PX is so rudimentary compared to the K4.

I hope you get it fixed and back soon !
good luck,-

Re: BCF2000
I had to go to Tahoe so before I left I tried and while there got some replies and a fix.
The fix didn't work so then they sent me a UPS label for free shipping to a guy here in the States.
Pretty fast though for Roman heathens.
Still want to get the HX3 and Burn into the show, but need a little more time creating a dozen different combinations of the 2 units.
All I can say is my looking for Hammond B3/147 leslie sounds is over.
These Dogs will hunt, and I will punish these Kronos/Nord wannabees.
Beat them like a step child if they dare open for us using that mamby pamby sounding crap.

Re: BCF2000
huh, that's still a shitty way for a hardware unit to go down though.. plugging in a usb stick with a non-preferred file system should simply not work, and not leave any permanent damage on the host system.. that's a strange glitch if that were the root cause.
HX3 eh, I just looked it up. I'm not organ aficionado but it's nice to know that it's yet another "end of search" moment. Pianoteq was the end of my search for most things piano and EP related, and probably for clavinet as well. And now if I were to ever be tempted to look for organs, HX3 is it. I've never been able to play the organ right so I probably won't ever be visiting that part of town unfortunately.

Re: BCF2000
I thought the same but after upgrading the unit is only halfway done and needs a reboot.
Like a moron I got nervous and had a keychain of Sticks putting an NTFS in and who knows what caused the init loop to freeze.
All I know is I was devastated but they did the right thing.
Monday wanted my serial after I already shipped it and I told them I didnt know.
Seems they are not only fixing it but giving me the EX motherboard with phys mod pianos and pcm samples.
I sure miss it.
Once you play one any other controller is frustrating.
Best wishes to you and the family Ken.
