hi Folks
been using Reaper for a while now, and generally pretty happy with it as a sequencer.
But, just updated to most recent version and something screwed up.
Booted up Reaper and all my normal SCOPE-ASIO connections now showed up as "ReaRoute", and were not useable.
I googled a bit, seemed I had chosen some kind of weird option by accident or something (?), so I uninstalled and re-installed Reaper, this time un-checking anything remotely resembling "ReRoute" (Rewire, etc) in the install options.
So now, I load SCOPE 1st (as usual), and boot up Reaper, and it's missing all my ASIO output drivers again.
It shows the sequencer INPUT drivers ok, like before ... but the output
it only shows one SCOPE 24- bit pair (Out 1 Scope 24-bit / Output Channel 2) ... and the rest are simply listed as "Output Channel 2 / Output Channel 3" etc. ... and NONE OF THEM WORK.
when I do assign the one "working" scope (out 1), it only works the left side of the 1st stereo pair. so I delete it, come back to the I/O assign window, and all the other outs are no longer visible, just a single item on the list "Out 1 Scope 24bit".
Odd. Maybe the program's buggy. Or maybe the last update is no longer SCOPE-FRIENDLY. I'm gonna try to revert to the last version (4.77).
Anyone else having any recent Reaper issues?
thanks for any feedback!
Gary
Reaper update / driver issues
Re: Reaper update / driver issues
hmm, I use Reaper. haven't gotten around to the last update yet, I think I will hold off pending more info on this.
Are you 64bit? Which Windows OS and are you Xite or PCI Scope?

Re: Reaper update / driver issues (solved! add "transpose"
hi YaYaJohn,
I fixed it. I ran the utilities that came with it - the reset to default, then the "show audio config" and I managed to re-set everything so that it recognizes the native SCOPE / ASIO stuff ok.
Odd, because I've updated Reaper many times, but never had to go thru this before.
Seems to be performing well now.
On the subject of REAPER, I have a question though on a different tangent.
On other sequencers I've used before (mostly cakewalk), seemed there was always a parameter on MIDI tracks to offset a note; say you wanted to go up an octave (+12) or down (-12) ... or transpose to a new key. There seems to be no way to do this on Reaper.
anyone know of any tricks that might work?
thanks!

Re: Reaper update / driver issues
Well i'm no Reaper guru but what I do is hold cntl button and tap the up or down arrow keys. If you want to move the entire clip then select all from the menu.
Might be something else in there that works better though.
Glad you got it worked out.

Re: Reaper update / driver issues
thanks Yaya ... what I had in mind was not so much transposing after it's recorded, but transposing "live" (on the fly), so you actually HEAR the transposed note "Live" as you're practicing or recording. Seems that was always a no-brainer with Cakewalk or Sonar.

Re: Reaper update / driver issues
i'm not sure. I've always done it with the keyboard live.
Re: Reaper update / driver issues
i think it's a midi plugin that will allow the stream to be modified this way.
Re: Reaper update / driver issues
scope plugin?
Re: Reaper update / driver issues
reaper plugin.
"midi modifier" or some such.
