No Christmas special
Something must be wrong!!!
Re: No Christmas special
well, I'll try to help out with something that might save you a couple of bucks
(those that Waves would charge for their Abbey road Tape stuff... AMT or so...)
get Celmo's Vintage Delay
set feedback to zero (!)
adjust the 2 heads to proper time values
set machine age just 1 tick from new, adjust dirty heads and filter to personal taste
and you'll have the most convincing fake tape you can imagine...
and of course a great vintage delay, too
merry x-mas, Tom

Hi Tom,
Nice to see you around again. How's the bass playing?
I have Celmo's vntage delay. I'll give it a go.

Re: No Christmas special
well - whenever I happen to listen to old Motown tracks I'm deeply embarrassed...
(I just love the sound of the Fender Precision ... 3 of them now + 1 JB)
actually my Martin X cheapo get's most use but fingerpicking improves timing on bass, too
another device rediscovered is Wavelength Gemini PD - more than 10 years old ... me oh my...
cheers, Tom

I guess you never sell at full price if everybody "knows" it will be on sale soon

I feel extra worried about the future of Xite, as developments go to easy and cheap tablet working, with or without computer DAW.
The scale of potential buyers is immense.
Praying for my old cards and OS9 mac to hold...

Re: No Christmas special
no need to worry - it could actually be their biggest chance as well
at least as far as the iPad is concerned...
(my Win8 Dell tablet for mobile use in network service etc is plain crap in 'usability')
it's an old story from soon after the release of the iPad one...
a piggy-packed USB chipset and a class compliant USB driver would provide the basics
Scope can entirely be controlled by a 'hidden' layer without the SFP surface (Juergen once mentioned that)
no rocket science to connect such stuff to IOS native controls
this would also remove the huge GUI load that SFP carries around and allow a neater design of the surface
options:
XITE with USB as an IOS sound device, which would automatically inherit Mac compatibility
in 'classic' mode with FW cable some network/bluetooth exchange would be needed for the control surface
IOS really can do some very(!) nice sounds on it's own, but it does not cover the full spectrum
I usually mix it with native VST (mostly Valhalla DSP FX) and Scope
cheers, Tom

Re: No Christmas special
Thát or an UAD-like DSP VST(i) card, but something should happen.
S/C could've been leading on iOS already, with all it has in home.
Or am I talking nonsense?

WOW! I will be buying these. I'm sure these are top-notch plugins since dNa has proven to me they have what it takes to deliver the best, and really do the SCOPE platform justice with their mighty fine additions.jksuperstar wrote:http://www.sonic-core.net/newsletter/20 ... iling.html
You probably should've started a new thread in the Announcement forum.

I think one of the whole points of having a sale is unpredictability.

Who is gonna buy something they know will be on sale in a few months time.dante wrote:I think one of the whole points of having a sale is unpredictability.
Re: No Christmas special
Exactly. Why do shops sell a lot of stuff on black Friday and cyber Monday? Well, people have held on to their money for a while and after those days, they have spend their money.

Are you talking to yourself. Lighten up Dante. We know historically there is always a Christmas special. What goes on sale is the surprise, that makes it unpredictable.dante wrote:Who is gonna buy something they know will be on sale in a few months time.dante wrote:I think one of the whole points of having a sale is unpredictability.

No that's different. Black Friday is devised to watch people fight over goods they couldn't really afford. It's an highly amusing event!
