i downloaded volker's sds drum machine a while ago, but didn't get any sound. of course, there weren't any samples in it.
i tested it with some .AIF files and it works just fine.
does anybody know where to find drum sounds (808, 909, whatever) i can load into the SDS?
i work on a mac, so .AIF files are my thing, or can i use .WAV as well?

nighty night (it's three in the morning over here)

You can find one here: http://planetz.ghostwheel.com/forums/vi ... forum=13&0. Unfortunatelly I couldn't use it on my Mac (Pulsar crash  ) but perhaps it was my fault - please, try it...

thanks sam,
i already downloaded that file yesterday, but two days ago, i installed os9.1 again from scratch as i'm waiting for a phone call from the music store when my new cubase 5.1 is in stock. they're going to install pulsar and cubase 'the way it should be'. i might better take subhuman's list for optimizing a mac set up with me. (i'll take this one to another topic)
no one who knows another place to find good drum samples?

cheers,
andy

oops!!!

sorry to have offended you air!!!
and it seems samplaire did contribute as well on the mac topic.
it's just, this subhuman is all over the place.
so everyone: it was actually air and sam who did the 'optimize your mac for audio' topic.

i checked out samplenet and it does seem to have some nice 'all round' sounds, thanks
the link analog dude suggested seems to have some goodies as well.
can't wait till everything's installed again.
btw, a friend gave me this little program everyone will know i think: stomper. i installed it on an old PII 120Mhz laptop and it does the job just fine. only problem now is: how to get the wav files from my laptop, which only has a floppy drive (no internet connection), to my mac, which only has CD and zip drives.
is softwindows freeware?

Softwindows is not freeware, I'm afraid. The best way to connect the two babes is ethernet but I don't know if there is an eth. socket in your laptop? And I don't know exactly what to do communicate pc/mac... (what app, what settings etc.)

i actually have a ethernet card in the pcmcia slot (3Com megahertz 10/100LAN pc card) but don't ask me how to use it, coz i wouldn't know. i know, you can find all the answers you need in cyberspace, but there are too many questions

thanks jupiter for the links. i just downloaded the kalava drum archive and i'm very happy to have a real fast internet connection, because it was A LOT OF DRUMS.
ok. i'm really looking forward to make some music again.
I WANT MY CUBASE NOW!!! why do shops always keep you waiting as soon as they smell your money is within their reach?
