Hi - Any help greatly appreciated. I am running a XP machine with a PowerPulsar/Scope as a slave to a Mac G5. I have been using rtpMIDI and an ethernet cable to route Midi signals from Ableton LIve in the Mac to Live on the PC. I also want to send MIDI to the Creamware synths on my power pulsar - so far I have not been successful. I have tried the software ins of ASIO in, MIDI in and MIDI Sequencer In, and have tried to use the Scope midi monitor to see if I was getting a signal.
Has anyone been able to do this, and what setup has been successful for you to get the MIDI signal into Scope from rtpMIDI?
Thanks

Re: Help - How to get Midi signal into Scope via rtpMIDI?
Scope, wether on PC or on Mac, doesn't 'see' that network MIDI driver: the DSP cards are 'external to the computers, they are (like) 'external' hardware with only a PCI interface.
There's only PCI communication for GUI mouse activities (and some reverb/delay RAM using communication).
So you can only get MIDI into or out Scope SFP through the hardware MIDI In/Out ports of your Scope card(s).
Same for Xite...
So you'd need an interface from rtpMIDI to real hardware Midi to bridge to the cards.
Unless more smart wizzards here will tell you better
(I run my 3 cards on an old Quicksilver mac connected to an OSX mavericks mac with an RME Raydat interface which takes care for the (ADAT and) MIDI connection to Cubase).

Re: Help - How to get Midi signal into Scope via rtpMIDI?
I use copperlan (free btw) http://www.copperlan.org/index.php/copp ... -end-users
to add midi ports to my other computers. Copperlan will recognize SC midi in/outs so you can connect directly to other computers via lan!
If you want to use something like an iPad wirelessly then use rptmidi in conjunction with copperlan. I have done it and it works.
I just did it to try out some wireless controller apps with SC.
It might be hard to figure it out but just take it a step at a time and think of each program as a bridge to connect things to one another.
Hope this helps

Re: Help - How to get Midi signal into Scope via rtpMIDI?
CopperLan won't run on the Mac G5.
However, just install it on your PC and you should be able to connect the rtpMIDI port to a MIDI port from SCOPE.
For further instructions have a look at the ScopeRise CopperLan article. Might be helpful to set up the routing.

So, as long as CopperLan picks up the rtpMIDI port you should be fine.

Re: Help - How to get Midi signal into Scope via rtpMIDI?
basically, you need a program on the PC to bridge between the rpt driver and the Scope driver, since drivers can't talk to each other.
this could be something like midiox/midiyoke, Bidule, a sequencer like Cubase or Reaper, or Copperlan. basically, the software sees one driver as it's input and the other driver as it's output...

Re: Help - How to get Midi signal into Scope via rtpMIDI?
rtpMIDI can share your hardware MIDI port over a session! There is no other software necessary (although, copperlan can be nice).
On this page:
http://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/ ... orial.html
Go down to the "Advanced Configuration". This describes connecting a hardware device using the lower right corner "Live Routings" selection (do this first, *THEN* open a session!).
IF, however, you want to share the Scope MIDI port with the local Live/DAW and at the same time share the same port with you Live/DAW on the Mac, you'll need to use a routing software like CopperLAN, or Tobias' loopMIDI.

Re: Help - How to get Midi signal into Scope via rtpMIDI?
it seems much simpler to just use a cable to connect the hardware ports than to route through the computers...
