Graphics settings windows 7

When my DAW is quite intensive I notice graphic redraws cause glitches.
Is this a result of the system reaching its peak or are there any extra tweaks for
The graphic card that will help?

probably the system reaching it's peak.

did you go to my computer\properties\advanced\performance\settings\"adjust for best performance"?
this will make the windows look like win98 and should really help.
