Use a setup that's on http://www.creamware.de or http://www.infinitevortex.com to compose your system. You won't regret.

yes thats good advice.i think the combo mentioned here should work tho.why not get the xp1.8? whatever you by will soon be slow, so why not get the fast one now so that you can wait a little longer to update in the future?

Thank you guys, finally some good advice!
Now, the new cpu XP serie is safe, isn't too young?
Shouldn't I wait a little bit to get the same cpu with no bug, more tested and sure?
Let me know!
thanx again.

How'bout a ECS (Elite Group) K7S5A motherboard & Athlon XP 1x00+ ?

It's a cheap, stable and lightning fast motherboard. The PCI bandwidth is also superior. Pulsar II/3.01 + Cubase 5 are running great on this configuration and can also handle extremely VST/DX-plugin loads with very low (ASIO) latency.

What is this AMD XP 1x00+ about. I read the AMD site and as far as i can see the tray is especially designed for Windows XP. Or is it not?

Should I upgrade to this processor or is it safest to keep working with AMD 1400 Mhz. for now.

BTW. from what I hear, XP is safe, stable, produces less heat than TB, faster, and so on, so on... just make sure your memory doesn't become a bottleneck - if you go XP ditch SDRAM also and get DDR memory and a decent mobo.

Is it safe to use? I currently work fine with Win98SE and 768 MB DDR onboard. How long have you been working with XP? It never crashed?

Is it possible to install a stripped version of XP, or do you have to install the whole enchilada?
