I'm thinking of getting a MIDI thru box that can work without an adapter.
However, there are quite a few units that can't power MIDI this way,
and I'm wondering if anyone has tested this with the Pulsar PCI cards.
Creamware / SC is not on the list of exceptions though:

MIDI Power
Re: MIDI Power
i don't think the Scope card will power it, but the controller connected to it should power it...
Re: MIDI Power
I have used their products for years and it's much more reliable using the PCI Bus rather than USB.
Since USB 3.0 though I have seen no issues with MIDI over USB yet, but since I don't want to see any issues, I avoid it for live performance.
I hate stuck MIDI notes, which is why I prefer MIDI Solutions stuff. It appears they all have built in filtering of active sensing and other worthless information clogging up the pipes.
I have the F8, Router and Merger.
Right now I have Casio PX-3S/Solaris into Merger into a BCF2000, out of the BCF2000 into a Router which splits off to the XITE-1 MIDI In and the SE-1X Synth MIDI In.
No loops, no feedback no stuck notes.
Highly recommend their products.
