Recording problem in WaveLab with Media Drivers - WIN7/64bit

Post by sandrob »

I just installed win7-64bit with Pulsar 2+ card and I have problem.
Recording in WaveLab 6 is not working properly when using Media Drivers!
I have a constant strong distortion.

Now I have another problem.
While I created the Scope project my system crashed and after that WaveDest does not work at all.
Wavelab see the driver, but no sound enters into WaveDest.

reinstall the driver.

the wave driver in 64bit is known to be bad. there probably won't be a fix until v6.

almost everything except 64bit wave drivers and 64bit STS samplers.

Wavelab 6 isn't a 64bit app and probably shouldn't be used. in fact, it wasn't even meant to run in win7, but was patched by Steinberg. did you install the patch?
http://www.steinberg.net/en/support/dow ... lab_6.html

also, for Wavelab, there is a reg mod, i believe:
http://forums.planetz.com/viewtopic.php ... ed#p286022
this was for a Wavelab 7 problem, but it might help if you have already tried the patch.

if you want to use old software, why upgrade the os? there is zero advantage to the os upgrade.
if you want to upgrade the os, you should upgrade all your software, too.

i just install patch but didn't help.
to me looks like wavelab working itself. playback work nice, but wavelab recording silence beacause WaveDestination is dead.

yes, you can update the driver in the device manager, but if you have playback, i doubt it would help.

you should be able to use ASIO, but only if there is no other ASIO host(sequencer) open. you may need to record in another app and then import the file into Wavelab, if you need to use Wavelab for edits.

I know that ASIO drivers are not multitimbral.
Anyway, WaveLab will not accept ASIO even I installed the patch.

I would like to fix the drivers but I don't have them backuped.
Scope reinstalation/repair did not help. :/

YES! working!!! :)

i just reload wave destination.

system crashed with custom wave dest. then i put in the project 64 bit wave dest driver.
now i just back custom 32 bit driver and by now wavelabe recording clean without any distrotion :)

i always had some problem when i update new system, then everything working fine.
I hope everything will work correctly when all the settings in place.

thanks, gary :)

not working again!
stops working for no reason.
sometimes working clear, sometimes working with distortion, and sometimes not working at all.

Read this thread:

I use Wavelab 6 with Scope 5 running on Windows 7 32 bit. It works perfectly after you follow the patching instructions.
