Hi..I recently got given a pulsar card version 1.01 and another card labeled p-samplerver 1.01.
the are two connecter cables for the pci cards but nothing else.
no serials or manuals or installers or even the breakout cable
What i'd like to do is use them to run some of the Synths minimax etc and the modular
I have a an xp machine with an m-audio delta as the main audio card.
I'm unemployed and don't have any money to spend..
so my question's are how do i get this up and running?
what do i need to download and where?
can I use both the delta and the pulsar together?
thanks in advance
Rob

Hi newbie,
I have Pulsar 1 and 2 connected together with the STDM cable on XP32bit Home. First you need to contact Soniccore and give them serial numbers from both Scope cards so they can e-mail you an .RGY file that you will use during installation to unlock all the goodies. Then you download Scope 4.5 from here: ftp://sonic-core.net/software/SCOPE_Fam ... .5_for_PC/ and install. Then remove the M-Audio card because you don't want to use both at once. You probably can but I highly advise not to. Plus M-Audio has a history of bad drivers. Also disable any motherboard audio devices in BIOS. Then just get an AD converter if you wanna record external stuff and use the Pulsar in ASIO slave mode inside your DAW.

Re: Scope Newbie needs hand holding
You said you have two connector cables and if you don't, then contact Soniccore or make your own here: http://www.hitfoundry.com/issue_10/stm_make.htm. As for the output cables you can still send and receive ADAT and SPDIF signal after you install the software. And I think it's just one signal in, one out. You just have to include the right sources and destinations in the Live Bar window.

Re: Scope Newbie needs hand holding
i ment the cable with audio outs and midi etc...i have the card connecters
Re: Scope Newbie needs hand holding
Whomever you bought the cards from should have supplied the breakout cables.
Scope will act as an Audio and Midi Interface, as well as the hub of your setup. You don't need the M-Audio anymore once you sort the connectors.
This article describes creating breakout cables afresh.
http://www.hitfoundry.com/issue_15/dsub_mst.htm
There are two flavours of card, one that takes balanced connectors (XLR/TRS) and AES/EBU digital, the other unbalanced connectors (RCA/phono) and SPDIF digital. Most likely, you have the more common unbalanced connectors.
In the meantime, yes you can use Minimax with your Delta card if you include Sequencer Midi In sending Midi from your DAW, connect that to the Midi In of Minimax, and send the Audio Out of Minimax to an ASIO Dest device. Select Scope ASIO driver and the Scope Midi Port in your DAW for audio and midi respectively.
But first, you need to get the software running. Did you get any Key File from whomever sold you the cards?
Install Scope software, and ensure you can start Scope...

Not because it is easy, but because it is hard...
Re: Scope Newbie needs hand holding
that's good advice.
the card is useless without the keyfile.
Sonic|Core sells software for the card, that will work with windows7 and 8 and also XP.
Creamware software worked with XP and 98.
Sonic|Core can probably help you get the keyfile for v4 of the Creamware software, but there isn't enough staff there to get your keyfile quickly. you could easily wait a couple weeks or more and it could even be longer.
the previous owner should have the keyfile somewhere, on a disk, a cd, a floppy, a thumb drive. without software, the card can do nothing. what's good about the card is that it offers mixing, lots of i/o free routing in and out of the computer in realtime with zero latency great fx and amazing synths. it sounds really good, but you'll need to understand how audio hardware works and connects because it's true virtual reality.

Re: Scope Newbie needs hand holding
Well the previous owner had brought the cards second hand off ebay about 5 years ago,
but never used the cards as he didn't have auth keys.
does scope use the dsp's on both the pulsar 1 and the power sampler card
the pulsar has 4 dsps and the power sampler card has 3,
so is that 7 dsps that scope can use?
