Using RMX 160 on drums
Using RMX 160 on drums
We find it good if we can stay inside Scope but here we go in and out of RME,
in order to have extra reverb on drums .
If we can use our ADAT channels for other things would be good.
We are trying to use this reverb RMX 160 and its loading but its no sound going thrue,
but its appearing as SC RMX on our PCI 14/15 bought from SC.
It seems to be a DAS plugin even though its called SC.
We want to test it on drums here now.

Here we have Master Verb Pro with RVerb as extra reverb on drums.
The same problem is now when trying to load one more Vinco M,
directly in the routing window.

RMX160 works here on both PCI and XITE, I use it all the time as well as DAS 5 channel now.
Re: Using RMX 160 on drums
Just putted Vinco in one Audio Rack and problem is solved.dante wrote:Maybe its supposed to be this ?dawman wrote:Dead Link.

Trying the RMX soon.
The new Bx would work much better in our setup.
Link is working now but thats old and this new today.

Did not put Vinco on rytm yet, but Vinco is on solo.
If you want to listen to mix with Vinco on rytm also,
Dont hesitate to ask.
That is the purpose with RMX now at once on link fix.
Re: Using RMX 160 on drums
You can buy a SpaceF mixer and in his AUX channels it will allow feedback and the Reverbs get really big. It's a bleedover as he calls it but it sounds like feedback to me.
Re: Using RMX 160 on drums
Thanks thats great but now we have so much feedback that we try to have one more Vincodawman wrote:You can buy a SpaceF mixer and in his AUX channels it will allow feedback and the Reverbs get really big. It's a bleedover as he calls it but it sounds like feedback to me.
also on rytmguitar and we just putted in the RMX 160 on drums here .
Thats three reverbs on drums .
Reverb is built of mainly positiv feedback so we want that also
Drums want reverb .
Now I have both an extra Vinco and RMX 160 as saved in our project
Now I can load one more Vinco without an extra Aux Rack.
Thats because I changed the STM cables from 1,2, and 3 to 1 , 3 and 5 ,
That took hours to find out.
Here is that mix.

Re: Using RMX 160 on drums
are you sure about the mix file?
It sounds extremely thin in the midlows and lows, with only some vague sub lows if I turn the bass up to max.

I agree.hubird wrote:are you sure about the mix file?

It's sounding thin now with the lead guitar prominent in the mids.
I also don't hear much stereo 'spread'.

Re: Using RMX 160 on drums
the side effects of feedback have been explained ages ago, so it can be left out ...
(you seem to want it that way and you get it exactly that way)
the result is less than humble in relation to the amount of technology applied
I know mixes from a plain old Tascam 244 that sound way more balanced (and I'm not in joking mode today)
cheers, Tom (puzzled, but never mind)

Thats th purpose here and to have the Vinco on rythmguitar also here.hubird wrote:are you sure about the mix file?

It was not loading but now rytmguitar is being heard more clear.
We also had the RMX 160 working now.
Thats the headline but still some saving problem here.
We are today going to have one more very heavy rytmguitar.
Thats will be three then ,but thats on another song.
This thread is not about vague discussions.
Its about mixing drums with three legendary reverbs.
Here both rytmguitar and bassguitar is playing very unisonly,
and on sides we leave space for Synth.
The rytmguitar is only -4 to left and +4 to the right and being heard.
This thread is about mixing drums and about the trick to be heard very much,
even though everything is in the middle.
Thats not possible using widening because its destroing the sound of the rythmguitar,
We use the bxv2 mid side procession in order to be heard at all in the middle here.
Here its about the drums and about having that famous Decca bassdrum,
thats only possible to make heard if doing feedback on drums.
Its also about the fact that we want to have answeres about the right way to load
very much dsp .
That was the main purpose here.
Not any crap drummixing that people do.
We have a problem with dsp using only half of 45 dsp

Re: Using RMX 160 on drums
I understand it's about the drums.
I niticed you didn't record a bass (guitar or synth) yet, but specially the kick itself lacks all lows.
Why would you have to lose the lows of a kick just because you want to add some (specific) reverb on the drums?
To judge any reverb on the drums you need some balances in the mix, isn't it?

This thread is not about any that.
Its about that we could not load the RMX and Vinco at all here,
and when we moved the STM bands we could finaly make a live mix
That made the drums more dark and rich.
This is live mix and we have lowered bass to listen to drums.
But you are wrong bassdrum is not working like that.
You can compare with the mix before RMX and Vinco.
But we dont work with mixing like you suggested.
See Lesson 6 with feedback on Xited
Re: Using RMX 160 on drums
We dont listen to people saying things and doing nothing.hubird wrote:ok then, do as you like.
Its much more important to record the Voice on this one.
We are doing Mastering and Mixing in one step going to Xite for the last step.
In this we made new drums today ,and today we raised the bass,
and the bassdrum is being heard the way most dont know how to do it.
All instrument here , exept the drums , shall be in the middle ,
so to fix mud we are going to change the feedback without loosing the bassdrum
http://soundcloud.com/bjorn-olofsson/no ... khz-24-bit
We also had to change from STM 2448 to STM 4896
because we needed more reverb and more dsp.
Using one big mixer takes very little dsp in Scope PCI we found out.

Re: Using RMX 160 on drums
Well, you seem to have listened yet, as the lows are better now.niceboy wrote:We dont listen to people saying things and doing nothing.
Yet the mids are hard to listen to, ear cranking relatively to the other frequencies.
most (here at least) know better how to do it.niceboy wrote:and the bassdrum is being heard the way most dont know how to do it.
Tip: make picture(s) smaller, no one will ever see the whole thing this way.
Good luck.

As Yoda might say, "And that is why you fail."niceboy wrote:We dont listen to people saying things and doing nothing.
Apart from being really rude to hubird (and just about everyone else) I am not really sure why you post. You want no-one's advice, you never listen to advice and you're going to do what you like anyway. Of course arrogance is nothing new in music, but if you're going to piss on everyone's parade because 'you know better' then you really need to be able to deliver. Frankly your mixes do not deliver for the level of arrogance you show to people who have been using Scope longer than you and whose views I respect.
I might not agree with hubird in the off topic politics threads, but if he said my mix was woolly or anything else I'd take his advice and have another listen.
I know you'll also disregard this post - thus proving my point (I'm expecting something like, "We don't need your opinion", "You don't understand the mystic art of the divine feedback technique" or some such).
Civility costs nothing.
If you do not want discussions then please stop posting on a discussion forum.

We dont want your crap advice, because you just dont understand.
This thread isn't about your technic.
We dont want your wrong way of mixing.
This is about mixing drums with reverb ,
and the rest is panoration doing advanced feedback ,
and change the feedback on other instruments we do later.
This is also about having the right setup for using more than half of 45dsp.
Maybe your discussion club need to learn how to play also ,
because you obviously dont understand that this is about mixing drums with reverb.
Can you really play music.
