XITE and cheap mike

Post by Inferman »

Hello guys!

I have Shure SM58 and cheap multimedia mike for skype users.
I'm not planning to use mike for production but I'd like to have it to chat in skype.
So it's awful to use shure for it, it's too big and to keep it in hand while talking in skype is quite annoying.

So my problem is - when I plug my cheap mike via 3jack-6jack connector it didn't work. Why?
Cheap mike works well with internal realtek sound card.
Adapter 3-6jack works well with headphones, for example.

UPD for concerneds: Problem wasn't solved, I've used SM58 for all mic purposes :D

Cheap condenser mics need power...not phantom power either.

The mic input on computers provides this power. you can find or make a power supply that converts phantom power to a computer mic if you search around the web a little.

jksuperstar, thanx!

Yep, I had an idea it's about power but I thought phantom power would be enough
