Hi, a really wierd problem.recently added pulsar2 to PC. Get a burbled sound under version3 playing pulsar synths using
"Pulsar2 Midi A Source"
Not fixed with driver/software reinstalls.
Not fixed after changing to new I/O plate.
Not fixed with changing SRB card at shop.
Not fixed when changing I/o cable
So probably not a card problem?
Funny thing is old pulsar1's "Pulsar Midi Source" works normally by itself or when connecting pulsar1 and pulsar2 with S/TDM.
It "appears" that pulsar2 card physical MIDI input doesnt work on this system:
Gigabyte GA60X, Intel 815e chipset intel PIII
Matrox G400 Dualhead
Adaptec SCSI 19160
Windows ME edition
This system is usually stable and has been compatible with:
Dualhead video drivers
opcode drivers(128x)
Canon printer, modem , digital camera drivers dongles etc.
Dspfactory
dynalink tv card
pinnacle firewire video capture card
IDE drives
Scsi drive
dvd-rom
cd writer
Pulsar1
Coexisting simultaneously with no problems
I removed everything except Agp card, Scsi card and pulsar2. The pulsar2's midi in still burbles. (i.e. you play a note. one second later the note sounds, then a very low note eg c minus 2 plays itself and hangs.)
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Hi, since the above post I removed the pulsar2 and installed it in an old pentiumpro200 running clean windows95. Virus free clean install.
Surprise! same problem midi burbling under v3 and also running v2.01 from disc and v201.bugfix. Might be 2 faulty cards in a row?
The tech guy will have a look later this week. Cheers.
Hi, since the above post We tried another synth, newer xp60 and no probs.
It seems old xp80 ver.1 software is probably incompat.with new pulsar II midi specs.
Cheers.
