Got samplemodeling brass package

Post by kensuguro »

Impressed with their sax package, i went ahead and got their entire brass pack, with trumpet, 'bones, french horn and tuba. Haven't messed with fr horn and tuba yet, but trumpet and trombones are excellent. The inbetween filling of slight portamento and optional chromatic portamentos make for great legato playing with slight imperfections. Nice zing in the highs as well, which were quite subdued in garritan big band.

I was looking at wallander's wivi, but went with samplemodeling since i wanted more individual character rather than a homogenous orchestral sound. (for funk, basically). Fr horn and tuba should help a lot with synful orchestra, as i love their strings, but their brass is too mellow sounding.

The brass pack has lots of key switches for articulations, though they seem less applicable for wind controllers, since i can actually do the articulation. (sfz, chromatic drops, etc)

Anyway, definitely a recommend if you're looking for a brass package. Its so much easier than messing with 100 patches for different articulations.

I use CHH Compact niw with Screamin Trumpet for lead mute/ Maynard screams, very happy.
But SampleModellingoffers more for ariety and I agree the Saxes are excellent. Congrats.
