I am trying to do parallel effects instead of the way our mixers have insert racks that I know are serial.
Using 4 x inputs and stereo out like this could be considered Parallel.....?
And it sounds better when the FX Dry knob is set to O.
But are there any phase or sample offsets this routing might be creating.
I know in the real world every insert is a 6db loss, but I am not well informed about the sample delays, etc. we run into in the virtual world....

Re: Proper Way To Create Parallel Effects.......?
if you run stuff paralell, you will have phase issues - since there is no way for the scope plugins to report their latency, you have to measure it yourself - i seem to remember someone making a dev that could do that? anyone remember what it was called? it was a freebie.
Another solution would be to run the EXACT same devs in each chain - but leave the devs you dont want to use, untouched - that way you will have the same delay and no phase issues

Re: Proper Way To Create Parallel Effects.......?
yo, that's the way you do it...
have to measure yourself the part of the signal path you consider critical.
the most convenient way is the Delay-button/entry field on STM2448 (and 2496) channels
or Adern's free Phase-Fix... there are probably more out there
just invert one path and dial in the most silent position. That's your offset.
Sometimes the offset is cool as it is, sometimes it's better to compensate.
Transient Designer is 41 samples (for example)
cheers, Tom

Re: Proper Way To Create Parallel Effects.......?
Well I do have the phase fix and the 2448, so I shall see if I hear anything.
I want to try the 2 x different Limiters this way and some parallel compression pre destination modular too.
Ankyu......
