Hi everyone.
I have a problem and I was hoping that you guys can help me.
After fresh Windows XP install, Cubase 5, Sonar 8, Kontakt 5, BFD2, and lots of other programs everything was working super.
I've install Windows like Standard PC.
Took me 4 hours to setup my project with everything I like in Cubase 5.
It was working great.
Yesterday I have lost midi devices in cubase, sonar, standallone applications, and everything that uses midi.
In scope I have connected midi like so:
Luna MIDI source to Seq MIDI destination, and Seq MIDI source to Luna MIDI dest.
When I put midi monitor to Seq MIDI destination I have a MIDI signal.
But when I put it to Seq MIDI source, nothing.
I have used this kind of setup for 2 years now and never had a problem.
I have tried to reinstall Scope bud with no results.
Audio and ASIO works great but non of the applications can not see MIDI inputs and outputs devices.
My computer:
Athlon X2 5200+ dual core
Gygabyte mother board
4 Gigs of RAM
750 GB Hard drive
Sonic Core LUNA2 with i/o external box.
programs:
Windows XP pro SP3 ( tried with SP2 nothing changed)
Cubase 5
Sonar 8
BFD 2
Superior Drumer 2.0
Kontakt 5 with 50 Gigs lybraries
Waves bundle
and many more plugins.
Maybe someone can help me to solve this unusual problem.
Luna 2 no midi device problem
Re: Luna 2 no midi device problem
I use SCOPE 4.5.
Re: Luna 2 no midi device problem
if what you are saying is that the sequencer won't recognize the Scope midi, even if you try to manually enable it, have you tried uninstalling the card in the device manager and then reinstalling the driver?
Re: Luna 2 no midi device problem
If I put Sampler STS3000 in routing window after midi source the signal is fine and STS works.
But everything outside the scope does not recognize midi device.
I have unplug my card and cleaned contacts and reinstal scope and drivers.

Re: Luna 2 no midi device problem
show me the midi setup in cubase.
Re: Luna 2 no midi device problem
There is no midi device to choose from in cubase or sonar or standalone aplications.
Asio is listed and working.
So it's not cubase

Re: Luna 2 no midi device problem
i need screenshots of the midi and audio device setup in cubase and your project. a flowchart doesn't help. also, i know you're a vet and this is a stupid question, but you have the sequencer midi modules in the routing window BEFORE opening cubase, right?
Re: Luna 2 no midi device problem
See here :
http://www.hitfoundry.com/issue_12/pcx_mast.htm
and click on the 'Cubase Port Setup' menu item.
Check in Cubase the same 'Device Setup' as shown in article - the MIDI Device Setup dialog.
Are the correct Scope entries there and checked 'Active' - I had to uncheck then check them again to get them all active when running 2 Scopes.
Even though they were shown as 'Acive' the MIDI monitor in Scope wasnt showing data until I did this 'toggling' of the check boxes. Now all MIDI's are active (as shown in 'The End Result')

Re: Luna 2 no midi device problem
Hi guys.
Thank you for all your help.
I AM THE STUPIDEST PERSON ALIVE!
I was optimizing windows for audio performance and shut down some services.
That was causing the problem to my midi.
Now I've turn some services on and everything is fine.
It was beyond logic to me how midi did not work, so I've tried to remember what I did.
Once again thanx for all the help and I'm sorry for my bad english.
I'm from Croatia so that's my excuse
Best regards
