Hi,
I'm rather new in the world of cream. I had some problems with my
LunaII card ... so I've been trying for days and days to get some
sound out of it; but in the end I found out that it was just a bad
card. My dealer gave me another one and now everything seems to be
allright. So if anyone should have the same problem (error
connecting to board 0), don't waste your time ... just call your
local dealer !!!
I've already managed to make a project to record my Cubase5 stuff on
DCC (the digital philips player that's out of production). SPDIF in-
> Big Mixer -> SPDIF out, with Luna as master.
... But when I try the other way (Luna as slave, recording from DCC
to LunaII) nothing happens. Is this a sycn problem? When setting
LunaII in sync mode, the mouse pointer shows the Luna logo that keeps
on turning arround as if it is waiting on some input?
I'm thinking ... when my DCC accepts a digital input .... Luna should
take one from DCC also. Maybe this is to simple???
Any suggestions?
friendly greetings and thanks a lot in advance,

It could be that your DCC doesn't like to master.
Finally the connection with Board 0 *could* be hardware, but is most probably a simple dsp.idx corruption -- reinstalling the latest patch or Luna version should rebuild this file, thereby fixing the problem -- a good thing to try before the hassles of returning your Luna board, it could save you some time.

I had the same problem with my Philips CDRW (your dcc is also philips, i presume) but when I changed the connection to my DAT (Sony) everything started to work properly (almost, but it's another story). It's strange as SPDif standard is Sony/Philips Digital Interface...On 2001-10-08 02:00, luc.deryck wrote:

The 'another story' is that a proffessional card should have better digital socket than mini jack...

I would most definitely agree with you, if the minijack was analog -- but it's simply SPDIF digital, and using a short "Y" cable to get SPDIF i/O works fine -- the signal is not effected by this. I don't think there would be enough room on the backplate of the card to have this directly on the plate...
Plus that Zlink-connector is starting to look really good with the A16 Ultra announcement...

If the mini-jack socket was at least as good as the one found in my default mac audiocard I wouldn't have had such problems that occured (ufff, English tenses are soooo difficult..., sorry) - I mean just stabile, not too fragile (my mini jack seemed to be different size but it was just as they say in the manual. First (after attaching a plain $1 multimedia cable caused frequent sync-dropouts (every 5, 10 min) in my early setup (Mac + Luna, now I've got also Pulsar 1), then I bought a $10 mini jack plug, a digital wire(75 Ohm, ~$20) and 2 $10 RCA plugs. My friend made a good-looking cable from the parts - after connecting it I had 1 dropout a day. Now (after 2 months) my Luna spdif in died (don't know why?). The most curious fact is that the output works and worked fine everytime (even with the $1 cable).I don't bother the fact because I have those Pulsar 1 spdifs (optical and electric)yet - Thanks god they now work properly!!!!The death was probably caused by me - careless hand moving near the Luna spdif socket, but I don't really know

I did install the Luna in three different computers, they all gave the same error message. I suppose this can not be a driver problem !!!
