Now that I have the DSP to play with this synth properly, I found a couple of good sounding presets - this is just a short demo of those sounds :

Rotors in Prowave using the RDII Moldules Series will really knock your socks off too.
Put a Waldorf in the Rotor EX and use really slow Crossfade rates ( LFO ) and try the Wavetrip Waveforms 52-56, with Saws, PWM or Square waves....

very nice! I like the Rotor EX very much. Takes a while to set up a patch from scratch but hey what synth doesn't eh?
Must be nice not having to worry bout dsp's anymore, I can usually get around 6 poly with all 4 rotors packed but nothing else on the system. (the RD's usually take more pwr too since some have multiple layers inside) Liked the bit in ScopeRise on this synth too. Thanks for doing that, some good stuff there on this synth. I'll probably sit down and try to figure out exactly how to use the AMS feature sometime.

Re: Rotor Ex -preset demo
Ive got only 3 poly ATM because it allows me to browse round the patches quicker.
If I select 'RD Slot' as a source, it lets me bring up any Scope effect as an insert, but I need to work out how to put a Waldorf OSC in there.
All the patches I like most have stereo movement in them because of the crossfades between rotors that are hard panned left and right. I think this features is one of the keys to making great presets that Im going to get a lot out of.
Now this really is a 'stereo' synth.

ok I think if you try and load up a stock effect or anything other than an RDII OSC it will give you an error but I could be wrong there. Do you have JB's RD II modules? If not then you should contact him for them, they are very reasonably priced (that's an understatement) and the Waldorf OSC's are bundled with them as well as a bunch of other LFOs, filters etc stuff. You can also use them in the modular environment as well any of the other Zarg synths that have an RD slot. When you have them installed you will see a folder marked RDII modules on the insert. Just select the OSC folder in the RD pulldown and select the Waldorf osc's then double click on them to open an additional set of controls for each RD OSC you load.
Sorry for this if you already knew all that.
I've got some home made presets you can try out if you like. None are really "postable" yet but i'm working on that. If you've got any i'd love to preview them if you don't mind just to see and learn from a different perspective.
PM me if you're interested.

Aaah ok so the RD inserts are a seperate bundle. Well that could be interesting, although it doesnt seem to be listed on zargmusic, Ill ask.
