Yes an interesting tool indeed. Unfortunately when I tried it out while trying to sort out my audio pops and crackles issue in Win7 64bit I didnt have much success with it. Could be that I wasnt setting it up absolutely correctly or maybe the developer has updateed it since then so it might be worth trying out once again. Anyway thanks for the info.

The day that I posted this was 1 day after he posted up the version with the new changes. Iirc from reading him elsewhere, he's able to use some calls that the PCU actually responds to (addressing EIST like the bios can since the PCU seems to override speedstepping at times.) Although I do know that some systems that had issues with c1e (or vrm noise with c6/core parking) actually need a bios update to fix things, so using this would probably be in addition to such basic 'getting the system working properly' steps.

I'm mostly interested in this for laptops which tend to aggressively hit low power states, but it might be a viable alternative for those that have been disabling EIST or c-states in the bios so that one can simply toggle the states while working and use the computer in normal conditions in a lower power state.

Hi Valis, thanks for the added info. Yes since I posted my reply I then took a look at the link on GS and did read about those new features that Unclewebb has added, and as you say they may well be the answer I am looking for I will definately try this out again when I have some time and will get back to this thread about my experience with it, particularly if it solves my issues But thanks again for that. Appreciated
