I emailed the soniccore shop these questions a few days ago, since no answer yet thought I would post the questions here.
1) Is this upgrade downloadable or only via physical shipment of CD ?
2) Is the only payment option PayPal ? I'd rather pay by credit card.
Also, anyone know if I have to go Scope4.0 ==> Scope 4.5 ==> Scope 5.0 ?
Or can I skip Scope 4.5 and upgrade Scope4.0 to Scope5.0 straightaway ?

Re: Purchasing Scope 5 upgrade from Scope 4 - payment / ship
it's downloadable. there's no cd sent.
i don't know about the credit card thing, but for you just making the payment, paypal is pretty much the same thing as using a credit card. you could try using the shop and when you get to payment, if credit card isn't an option and you really don't want to use paypal, just exit the window without entering any payment info(the credit card #) and it'll all be cancelled.

Re: Scope 5 upgrade from Scope 4 - Can I skip Scope 4.5 ?
yes, skip. v5 is a completely different install. you'll need to rename the v4 folder after you install v5. when you have made sure that you have duplicated all your 3rd party devices and any presets that you have made, you can remove the v4 folder if you wish. it doesn't hurt anything to have both folders, you just don't want old projects trying to load devices from v4. there are new dsp files and a new driver which won't work with v4.
Re: Scope 5 upgrade from Scope 4 - Can I skip Scope 4.5 ?
Thanks Bear and GaryB. I actually renamed the 4 folder coz it was just called Scope & I figured 5 would call it the same thang, but then 5 installer put it in c:\program files\scope_pci, and then seemed to create c:\scope as well.....? go figure...
but what the hell its working now only after a couple of hours fiddling with Dynatube and a couple of other things....
Thanks again for your help.

yes, the S|C program is different than the Creamware program, but not functionally as far as the user is concerned...

Also seems I might have got lucky scoring Mix 'n' Master as well as Synth 'n' Sampler - the device files are there but havn't had time to try em (so dont know if they are going to license prompt me yet...).
The soniccore web says you get both packs if you've got 14 or 15 DSP's - I've only got 12 ! Mind you they also say you only get one pack if you've only got 6 DSP. Guess they figure I'm not a bad customer if I've got 3 boards so they threw the dog a bone.
Damn sweet value if you ask me, if both packs work I'm a very happy chappy & will be singing the S|C anthem for a while...
UPDATE 22 July :
I did actually get both packages...Mix & Master + Synth & Sampler. I cant believe the value of this V5 upgrade...sooo damn good. I can easily say it was the most bang for buck update of any DAW software product I've ever purchased ...and thrown in to the bargain a couple of minor install issues I got answers straight away from S|C support...
