intermetro continues: Stepping Stones

Post by kensuguro »

Picking up on the intermetro project. Electro, pop, and fun. I think I'm going to retheme it as "day time electro", generally trying to stay away from becoming too mid-night-ish.

Mainly featuring a plucky sound with a sparse melody line. Had fun with a free melotron synth called tapeworm. Very punchy drums this time. There's also a guitar solo after the 2nd chorus!

this is a return to the kenseguro style that i always admired.
i think the melotron/tapeworm stuff is a bit too up front, which makes the whole thing a little raucous, but i really like the compostition. nice fake guitar solo! :)

urban!

Ken, i'd love to mix some of your stuff sometime!

ya, back to familiar grounds. The tapeworm thing was tough as they tend to be chilled out by default, but get too crunchy once I put them through decimator. The guitar solo.. hehe, ya, you just start slow, and then play really fast, and really high at the end... just like everybody did during the 80's. Except I don't have the bad hair.

It would be awesome to have you take the tracks for a spin.. I'll see if I can upload them somewhere. You want all the stuff raw? Like straight out of the synth raw? (which sounds like crap, lol)

sure, raw, or if you have a treatment you like, then apply it first!

Seriously original ideas and arranging.
It has such an Anime sound and feel.

I like the sound. Great arrangement and good performance. Just...It sounds to me quite like a contrast between the complexity of the tapeworm part and the lacks of note dynamics...

It's a pity that Jimmy can't take my rooms for rent this summer. I'd like to know you guys, perhaps attend Ken's work and Gary's mix...
Your mix sounds good to me though, Ken...
