Do VRCs work for you in Scope 5 - PCI?
Do VRCs work for you in Scope 5 - PCI?
The VRC devices are not working for me, but SonicCore support tells me they should, so I would like to check whether mine is a special case or there are other people with the same problem.
What I start with is a clean XP installation, without any other application installed and with just the default user account configured (which has administrator rights). On top of that I installed the latest Scope 5 PCI version (i.e. Scope 5.0 2617).
Everything works fine except that as soon as I try to load either VRC-S or VRC-128 the scope application crashes. The crash is not a hang or OS shut down, it's simply the scope application closing (of course without the usual "do you want to save" dialogs).

Re: Do VRCs work for you in Scope 5 - PCI?
Thanks for the answers.
It would be great to have more answers (I'm sure there is a lot of people here with Scope 5 CPI on Win XP) but for the time being it looks like there might actually be a bug in the VRCs that went unnoticed to SonicCore.
The worst part about not having the VRCs (at least in my view) is that it makes it impossible to sync VDAT to sequencers.

Re: Do VRCs work for you in Scope 5 - PCI?
One more user here to confirm the crash with VRCs....
Overall, I do like the new version now that I've got Wave driver issue resolved. But this along with VincoDT seems to be something to be fixed in the next release.
SFP 4.5 had its share of bugs but most of them I think we were able to find a workaround but VRCs not working I can see some people having major issue with that being broken.
And after I got used to the new color scheme of high contrast black/gray & white, it's hard to go back to SFP 4.5.

Re: Do VRCs work for you in Scope 5 - PCI?
I saw two tips which can be searched for on this forum which might help
Are you "running as administrator" ?
And
Are you assigning the correct DSP placement for the VCS
I hope this helps

Thanks Feg.
However, those tips are not solving the problem, at least in my case:
I'm already using an administrator account in Win XP, which means that Scope should be running with admin rights.
And the assignments of devices to DSPs I guess is applicable to XITE (?). At least I don't know how to do it in Scope PCI.

Re: Do VRCs work for you in Scope 5 - PCI?
I contacted SC some weeks ago and I told the the prob.
Now I sent them a link to this thread to show its not just me .
Some very strange thing:
I was able to load VRCs at my old machine ( P4 with SDRAM).
Then I upgraded my PC to an I5 (still using XP)
Now I installed all older versions of V5, but none works with VRCs again.

Re: Do VRCs work for you in Scope 5 - PCI?
Update:
I just moved my scope to an athlon, nforce-chipset, single-core. VRCs work !
seems like my I5 is too new ?
What HW-config do you use ?

Re: Do VRCs work for you in Scope 5 - PCI?
It doesn't work here
mobo: Asus P5QLPro
Core2duo
WinXP spack3
4go ram
Vdat is ok, but both VRC-S & VRC-128 crash Scope 5 as soon as i drag them in the project window
it's annoying because i use Vdat all the time (with VRC-128)

Re: Do VRCs work for you in Scope 5 - PCI?
I now did an upgrade to Windows 7 Professional 32 Bit, but things became even worse.
All malfunction remains, some new appeared.
Maybe it's time to downgrade to some older hardware, because the same software worked well there under Winxp.

Re: Do VRCs work for you in Scope 5 - PCI?
HI There,
I have played around with VRC-s and 128 using SCOPE 5.0 in XITE.
They only work if you assign them to DSP#2.
Also I found that the ASIO2 Sync does not work with Cubase, but does with Samplitude 11.x
MTC does sunc to both Cubase and SAM 11 - at least in XITE-1.
Sorry this is probably not very useful for PCI Card users.

Re: Do VRCs work for you in Scope 5 - PCI?
vrc crashes here too,
p35ds3 gigabyte
dualcore intel cpu
I heard singlecores work well, is there a way to assign scope.exe to core 1? -numcore 1 does not work as scope would not start with it anymore.

Scope 5.0 PCI, Intel, WinXP here... VDAT works, VCR do not work (crash Scope).

The same problem here, Scope 5 crashes as soon as I drag vcr on project's window.

Re: Do VRCs work for you in Scope 5 - PCI?
Hi,
My VDAT loads and works fine.
The VRCs and the VRC are supposed the generate Sync data to control VDAT
They do generate Sync for VDAT and can control VDAT
They cannot generate Sympte/MTC to sync to my sequencer applications.
I am unable to sync VDAT to my sequencers.
I am using a Dual Core MOBO.

Hi,
They definitely do not generate MTC as specified in the manual.
They can only sync to Cubase using the Sync Output.
The MOut output on them does not send anything out.
Is there a way to cox the VRCs and VRC to give output Gary B???
