Is Vdat working?

I can load it in the latest version 5 but as soon as creat a tape it comes up with an error

Loaded some old tapes, no probs. Scope pro, pentium 4.

I've got it working in places but I keep getting an error when I want to record my Cubase SX track. The error is:

Function Call Stack Error Limit 1000 Exceeded

that's most likely related to (recent) dualcore CPUs
I never had that error on a P3 or P4, but now had it a couple of times with CoreDuos under Scope 4.x
It wasn't VDAT (or was it ? can't remember exactly the device...) but it was reproducable.
