asio modules trouble... ASIO could not be activated

Hi,

i have just set up my new DAW with GA P43 ES3G. I tried SFP5 with Win7 and my three pulsarII cards and i often get a message
"dont mess around with copy protection" so i decided to get back to 4.5 and winXP.
So far so good. If i open my old standard 4.5 project and if i starts Ableton i get a error from Ableton "the device "ASIO SCOPE" could not be activated.
The ASIO modules are in the project. Even if I load the latest ADAT recording project i get this. This was working a few days bevore.
I also tried ASIO2 ect...

If i load a standard sfp asio example i can activate the ASIO in ableton.
if i take my startup project or any other old project im not able to use ASIO.
Anny ideas .. im driving crazy

if you go back to 4.5, you must reinstall the v4 driver.

Also, as I noticed in XP at least, you need to remove the v5 drivers first via XP's Device Manager, then reboot, and only then install the v4.5 drivers. Otherwise, drivers would not be installed properly.

my harddisk was formated after win7 and sfp5 ..
i have installed XP and sfp 4.5 ..

barring a hardware problem or bad/dirty hardware connection, a computer is just a collection of files. if the file system is intact, neat and tidy, it MUST work. try reinstalling the driver. if you think that either Scope or Ableton directories are corrupt, you could run both installers(over the top, don't unistall).

i've installed too many of these cards to believe that it's just a problem of bugginess. either, the settings in Ableton are incorrect, Windows is corrupt(highly unlikely), the card's driver is not installed correctly, or the card is NOT SEATED CORRECTLY, there is not a correct pair of ASIO modules in the project, or you changed the ASIO modules while Abelton was open, or changed Scope projects while Abelton is open. other than that, it HAS to work.....

if i load an example project in the current installation i can activate asio in ableton
if i load a old project .. also those old 4.5 projects before testing sfp5
i can not activate asio in ableton.

and .. totaly insane is: if iload a example project "ASIO EZ recording" asio isworking.
if i now remove the asio i/o and if i add it again -> softwareIOs -> asio i can not activate asio in ableton. .. after closing this project and laoding again the example from sfp asio is back in ableton.

you CANNOT change the asio modules with Live open(including by changing the project). you will always lose contact with the asio driver in that case.

i can .. thats realy something i can do ... hehe
if i switch back to the example "asio es recording" i can activate asio in ableton again.
of course i had also resatrted ableton. but you dont have to restart it, all you need is to switch again to asio scope in the options of ableton.

its not easy.. never had something before ..
i will try to reinstall xp from another media.

so now after reinstalling the complete os again
i run into the same problem. the standard startup project works and if i load even a real old project
or if i remove asio by hand and reinsert it from the menue i dont get the asio in any sequencer.
after loading the standard project asio is workin again ... without restarting ableton

if you must do it wrong, that's fine, just make sure that you have a matching pair of ASIO modules. there is nothing normally buggy about the S/C ASIO.

i installed xp new and 4.5again.. same problems .. i updated to sfp5
asio is working... hä?
