annoying save dialog question
annoying save dialog question
Hi there!
Is there a way to stop scope from asking me always if I want to save changes when I quit? On an unsaved project this would be a nice question, but it also asks when the project was already saved - this prevents my computer to shut down automatically cause the dialog stops the shutdown process and its a pretty nagging problem...
Is there a way to do it by the ini file or some registry hack? I would be ok if it completely deletes all saving questions, even for unsaved projects, I normally save all my work regularily so I dont need this...
cheers

edit: i have scope 4.5

99.9999% chance he won't be able to hack scope. If he can please let him report his findings to S|C HQ!tomylee wrote:well too bad, I guess then I have to ask a friend whos a talented hacker/programmer...
Re: annoying save dialog question
im not aware what a hacker would have to do...I thought editing a minor thing like the saving behaviour would be not a big deal for him..
gotta ask him when hes online...

Re: annoying save dialog question
dont think so! I get asked to save projects when I close scope.
Re: annoying save dialog question
sure but do you also get asked when you saved the project already manually?
Re: annoying save dialog question
it's SO not a big deal.
Re: annoying save dialog question
stardust, you are remarkably bigotted.Obviously because the average driver in those countries hardly has a 2 digit IQ.

immagine a car that shoots the airbag at you even though you made no crash - just for your safety, sure its safer, buts its as stupid as being asked if I wanna save even when I ALREADY saved and made NO changes before quitting the program.stardust wrote:[...]
Back on topic. The dialog is also for your safety.

No program I know does that. Cubase also wont ask me unless I made some changes after the last save. If I saved a project there and quit the program it wont ask me again, cause there simply had been no changes made...I think you didnt get my point, it has nothing to do with safety its plain stupid and annoying me since ages...
Re: annoying save dialog question
You think this is bad??
Well dont accidentally try to open some unregistered device which prompts for the keyfile!
...Then locking you into a seemingly endless cycle of "please load keyfile" followed by "DO NOT MESS WITH SOFTWARE YOU HAVENT PAID FOR!!!" or something to that effect.

I scope-fu myself through these issue quite smoothly. it requires patience. but you get the device deleted eventuallyAndy_F wrote:You think this is bad??

Yes, mildly irritating, but a showstopper worthy of a hack? No.

...besides, it's been requested that SC fix this for the real V5 or 5.x release.
It's just a nag that we've all come to love
I've also avoided loading unregistered devices because of the shutdown loop (much more aggravating IMO), but it would be nice if it at least only looped once - AND that I just don't try to load devices that I know are not registered

awwww, so tragic!
Re: annoying save dialog question
That'll just shutdown your machine. Read the help for more info: Start > run > cmd > shutdown /helpshutdown -f -s -t 3 -c "at0m saves the day again :P"
If you just want to kill Scope, tskill /help.

Re: annoying save dialog question
wouldnt it be easier to press "no" in that case? im not on the computer when the computer shuts down, thats the problem. im in my bed watching tv ^^ and I shut down the pc with the remote, so scope aborts the shutdown process.
If there was a way to set the forceshutdown into the registry as the standard shutdown mode, it would work once and for all.
