adat problems

Hi.
I have a problem with one of my adat ports on my 6 dsp card. Whenever i put an adat cable into this certain input i get a very loud noise input instead of the the output from my converter.

This happens if i change the cable or change the converter: Its a defect on the board.
Any ideas how to solve this? Can adat connections become dirty? should i clean it with alchohol?
-i'm thinking that it could be an error with the communication from the adat plate to the board. So unscrewing the plate and cleaning the contacts with alchohol?


any other suggestions?

reseating the plate may help. cleaning the pins isn't a bad idea.

cleaning the port itself should be done with compressed air...
