Hello from Dave Martone dear people of the Planet Z boards
I have just updated to a newer computer and have installed my Pulsar 1 card with Sonar 8.
My old 2.4 1 gig computer running XP PRO had not to many issues with PCI overflow. Actually none.

ARGH!!!!! HELP PLEASE
Re: ARGH!!!!! HELP PLEASE
sorry to read, but the Pulsar 1 is very sensitive to this kind of problem.
Modern boards seem to neglect old PCI slot(s), (most likely) something is irq sharing with it
I remember boards where you couldn't even load the basic software without a PCI overflow.
Best bets were Intel 815 and 865 (P3/P4) back then, my recent 946 seems ok but with less PCI performance.
You should check the sharing, but an additional (faster IO) card with 3 or 6 DSPs is highly recommended.
Then the IO is handled by the faster card - it's an improvement anyway, less latency, too.
cheers, Tom

Re: ARGH!!!!! HELP PLEASE
So I have been finding. I have been chatting with Garyb.
He is great.
I have been looking for a newer card... 3 or 6 dsp with the classic I/0 xlr... but cant seem to find one yet..
Thanks Astroman!
Gonna Check Irq and update to V4.5 upon Garyb.
Then go from there.
I will have more info in the next little bit.
Thanks guys
