PCI limit reached
I have the XITE & a Pulasr II in the same machine.
Loaded 6 STS 2000 samplers & an SB404......
While running through presets, I got the PCI limit error.
I changed the DSP assignment of the SB404, and still get the message.
Approx. 30% DSP usage on my Intel DQ45CB mobo....with a BCF & BCR plugged in via USB (which I will switch to MIDI when the new 8x8 midi router arrives). Oh, all most forgot, I'm using on board dual head video....not the PCIe 16x for a video card...though I need more than 2 monitors at this point as well, to work more efficiently...with getting another video card...will that only make this situation worse?
any advise...here are the IRQ assignments as is
thanking you in advance...

Re: PCI limit reached
That's kinda what I thought....I knew I would have to disable something...I'll find out what USB ports get killed in the process...I'm just hoping, they are not the ones on the back of the mobo...but the ones used to connect other USB devs from the case (which I don't use...just cuz it's a server case....so no USB jacks on the front or any of that crap...THANX G....I'll keep you posted...
I honestly was thinking....if anyone would know....It would be you...GaryB....SUPERSTAAAAAAHHHHHHH.....
Thanx again G

Re: PCI limit reached
Oh shit!....what about the other video card...I'm guessing it will grab a totally different IRQ...or do I just have to wait & see which IRQ the PCIe 16x video card will use...

Re: PCI limit reached
I'd say stick with the onboard and get a Matrox Dual or TripleHeadToGo and span one of the VGA or DVI ports out over 2 or 3 monitors.
I use 4 monitors - 'cause that's how I roll

The dual onboard video is one of each...I'll give you the scoop when the new card comes...
it probably will have the same config...vga & DVI....stay tuned....same bat time...

DSP limit reached, after disabling the USB in IRQ selection in Device Manager...
SAT connections from DSP5 to DSPd?
any ideas?

I get this one occasionally and have mentioned it to Holger and Ralf.netguyjoel wrote:DSP limit reached, after disabling the USB in IRQ selection in Device Manager...

Have lots of modules?
Have a mixture of older modules (synths/effects), and newer modules?
You may have to methodically go through and assign each module to a DSP as you import it.
Sometimes helps to save, close, and reopen Scope.
I consider this a bug until they finish working out the DSP distribution on larger projects.

Well, I haven't tested the STS's.netguyjoel wrote:6 STS 2000s 2 SB404 1 Synchrome..that's it...25% usage...Synchrome is an old 1.1 version too...project worked fine building it...reloading it...boom...
Also, I'm still even investigating possible power and I/O issues, which otherwise shouldn't be a problem, but who knows.
In the meantime, I think you should send the project to S/C.

Re: PCI limit reached
are you able to optimize the project and then use it?
possibly locking a trouble device down to specific dsps might help...

This approach hasn't really worked very well for me.garyb wrote:are you able to optimize the project and then use it?

Sometimes just clicking on a menu item gives the overflow warning.
Sometimes letting it optimize takes MINUTES.
I think for one they need a proactive optimization button that we can push to get the system sorted.
Either that or SC should add a <ahem> dynamic real-time optimizing (not easy).
For me, quite frankly, some projects I built about 6 months ago are now getting worse.
Nevertheless the program is stable - just picky with re: to DSP.

Re: PCI limit reached
Tried to optimize the DSP error on the DSP5, then get one for DSP4...try to optimize that...and the same error returns for the DSP5...
I will send the project to S|C...but in all intensive realities...the next 5.0 (today or tomorrow might do the trick)
I wish you were XITEd oh wait you are....

Re: PCI limit reached
Try to build such a project with 6 STS-2000 etc. etc., and before saving this project set every device to ZERO voices.
It's quite annoying to set every device after reloading on the polyphony you wish, but try it.
