Don't mess around w/ PPC. Go all the way with a MacPro, it's an amazingly powerful box.
You'll be spenfing a few large though.

Only option you have is to wait for the OSX Scope 5 and hope it supports PCI cards. Then you would in theory be able to use a Scope PCI card in a Magma-type chassis or in a hackintosh.

I don't consider OS9 to be an option really, and current machines wouldn't really run OS9 anyway. I guess if you really wanted to do it, you could pick up a G4 and run Logic 6 but the machine won't have much power at all.

The other option is to use a Mac with latest Logic, and use the Scope cards in a cheap PC connected via ADAT. Be warned that Logic 8/9 are significantly different to L5 - definitely takes some getting used to if you're used to 5.

Incidentally I still have a working L5 Windows XS-key, PM me with an offer if you're interested (it has just Logic 5, none of the plugins).

Thanks for the offer but I believe the keys are coded to the installation CD if I am not mistaken. I would still need my EXS24 anyways. That is my workhorse.

Thanks again :)

Just FYI the XS-key is not locked to the installer. But of course you need the EXS so it's a moot point. As Gary said, try and check Ebay for old Logic 5 copies. And if you can't find one, I'd say ethically you are quite entitled to use the 'unofficial' version. It works flawless, used it in the past for remote work so I didn't risk losing my dongle. Anyway hope the other info was useful.

Yeah! I could still be earning my living with Logic... I am now a buyer for ABB's high voltage transformers division so I can afford to use the "unofficial" version of my favorite sequencer(I don't think anybody at Emagic will mind, hehe) in order to just continue my personal little projects.

Thank for your input and support, you guys!
Are we listening?..
