yeah they've been catching some heavy flak on the cubasenet forums about this. It seems that Steinberg's quality control is having serious problems.

Thanks for the heads up!

Since I am rebuilding my system, I was considering 5.1. How common is this mixer bug? The hardware thing is not the only difference. The Reverence reverb latency has been drastically reduced from 2048 to 256 samples. That is important to me. I was seeing problems when using just two or three instances of Reverence and was using the old reverb instead mostly.stardust wrote:reason: no fixes, only yamaha HW support and a severe bug making mixer faders transparent.

No reply? I'm going for broke and using it. Will report back after it s sufficiently tested.

Thanks for the info on this.
I'm still on 4.5, but I was considering upgrading.

Ta.
Too many things to buy, too little time to get into them (normally).
I'm feeling sort of comfortable with what I've got around me at the moment (well, I may upgrade GPO to V4 and Trilian is in the post).
Nice to hear from you mate, although it's me that's been absent for a while.

I haven't used 5.1 enough to know if the screen thing will affect me. It has better sounding effects than SX4. That is mainly what I like. The new toys I really don't use. The drum machine and loops are good. The halion player and library is useful. I usually like the upgrades. There was one I didn't think was worth it. I think that was SX 3. It was too soon after SX2 and there weren't enough new features in it.
