A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

http://www.arcane-archive.org/religion/ ... -oto-1.php

the whole freakin article gave me a headache....like there are dudes debating this crap...

From what my uneducated, unphilosophical ilk, can draw any kind of conclusion...sperm is the most concentrated form of protein, and therefore deserves worshiping more than what a woman has??? WTF... I LOVE my woman, & would not be a fraction of who I am today, without her...don't get me wrong..I did my part...protect, provide, built a dream home...do ALL the cooking..(still wear the pants)...and spoil her, every chance I get..
I was just amazed that a guy like me, that lives to count, and practice time signatures.....I have NEVER had my musical mind, bent like this, in a long time...since I learned how to play in 15/16 time, mixed w/ 7/8, 3/4 and 5/4...it as all pretty mind bending for me...but REALLY F#$@in cool at the same time...
still a caveman...

just think how you'll take this elixir into your body without it touching the air....

South Park had it right. the Devil is a girly-man....

the article obscures the deeper mysteries of the practice, but that's why they use words like "arcane" and "occult". what does this have to do with the original topic? these guys into magic and higher math are just that sort of freak. just like so many rockers, they are OTO.

rock and roll, the gayest art form(it's ok by me)....

OH CRAP!!! Does this mean I have hidden tendencies to play for the other team? Not that there is anything wrong with that...these guys are just either, way out of my league...or just a major whack job...no pun intended...still uneducated...

Remember when Schwarzenegger tried to get the politicians in Sacramento to start making cuts in spending way back when he first took office...?
The boys in Sac hated him and wouldn't even accept any invitations to meetings or negotiations so he went on TV and said they were all Girly Men.............
I laughed my ass off as they all demanded his resignation and all the Girly Men from around the state were livid. I laughed for a week on that one.

Ok, i admit i haven't read the links, but from the discussion here, can i conclude that since these guys, since they throw a bit more advanced counting in there than a regular 4/4, should be perceived as gay? will 3/4 make you bi-curious?

Am i missing something?

yes!

you are missing something.

it has nothing to do with being gay, this Spermo-Gnostic OTO. it's a ritual. for some reason, many into high level mathematics find these wizardly things so fascinating that they participate and even write scads and scads of writings about it(i think it's because mathematics were once called "magic" or as Crowley would write it, "magik". ). A. Crowley is their great initiator in the 20th century. lots of the big boys are self proclaimed followers, like Earth, Wind and Fire(the "shining star" lyrics being Crowley's own words which include "the law is Love. Love under Will".), the Beatles(his picture on Sgt. Peppers), the Rolling Stones, Ozzie, Jethro Tull, and of course, bands like Tool. the most famous Crowley followers include Kings(and a recent British PM), but one of my favorites is the founder of Pasadena's JPL and the inventor of the fuel for the Saturn V rocket(even that name is crazy wicked  ), Mr. Jack Parsons, the guy who lost a wife and girlfriend and eventually a life to L Ron Hubbard.

i'm just giggling, i'm like a 5 year-old who saw his older brother kissing a girl or a guy with a big nose.

you can always fact check me....

btw-i really like the way "Shining Star" sounds...

Crowley likes to mix in his own personal jokes & egotism with a bit of actual information, to keep people playing his games long after he's gone. It doesn't invalidate the fact that there's some actual information communicated, but by the time you figure out which bits are the actual knowledge, which bits were a joke/distraction and which bits were him pulling your strings from afar I think you'd be as easily served looking anywhere else.

To put it differently, these bands are playing his games decades after Crowley (presumably) has passed from this existence. Is that Magick? Certainly egoism...

Well you learn something every day... Mr.C have certainly inspired some great artists i see :)

I still find the music pretty clever though, regardless of whatever el magico is involved. I bet mr.C would laugh his head off :)

The seventies produced the most musical results i.m.o. beyond 4/4...Bill Bruford is one of my favorites ever on how he moves across tempos.
