is "emotionalizing" lying?
Re: is "emotionalizing" lying?
gee, no one thinks it's strange that greenpeace admits to making false statements about all the arctic ice melting by 2030?

It's been a well documented fact that global warming is partially a myth. Weather is just like anything else on earth. it operates in cycles. we are currently experiencing almost the identical weather patterns of 100 years age, that are now being cloaked in lies.

Solar flares are down (after several years of record-breaking storms), and volcanic activity and frequency increases - but it's ALL our fault, and we need to be taxed to fix the issue, when the 'solutions' are already there.
I've dealt with Greenpeace in the past (working on otherwise legit environmental projects with 'competing' orgs), and all they did was feed their egos and ask for more money. 60% of revenues from fund-raising went to keep them in existence. However, their overall effectiveness was lackluster compared to some other smaller groups.
They've become cover for the fake environmental lobbyists looking for a handout.
Just friggin' give people tax-free incentives to use 'alternative' technologies so we can toss out all the oil magnates and their shills.

Hey you have to admit the old Blue Dog Al Gore is sure enjoying it.
100,000,000 is what his organization has taken in so far. And not a single wind turbine yet..?
And what were his " green reporters " doing in N. Korea....?
Well 27 years of polling and he finally has found out what he believes in...............
He used to believe in the total opposite of everything he " stands " for now.
You can't blame him really...he never made any money until he turned into the UN's lapdog.
I hear his Mansions all run off of Solar energy and his Jets and SUV's use hydrogen for fuel...........ahh, just kidding.
But with 100,000,000 USD you'd think he would at least do more than give Global Warming speeches during Blizzards like last year..............
The new term is Global Climate Change.......Perfect.
When it's hot outside.....you are right.
When it's cold outside......you are right again.....
That's Brilliant, you can't lose ( as you collect millions from organzations and claim you are lobbying the cash for legislation ).
The scam of the century IMHO.

Re: is "emotionalizing" lying?
IMHO it is at least deceitful. If the emotionalizer knows otherwise (i.e. purposefully/professionally emotionalizing in order to sway public opinion against the facts), then most definitely lying.
One of the worst kinds of lies (again imo) because it can polarize & blind an individual. Kind of a pre-emptive strike against reality.

They had some of the largest Tobacco yeild throughout the last part of the 20th Century too.
That's why whenever I hear rich politician elitists trying to tell me how I should live I become quite infuriated.
When some 5 star general with the heart of Spartacus or Maximus Decimus Meridius marches on DC I will gladly join in and remove all of them and start over.

Re: is "emotionalizing" lying?
Definitely still a lie. I'm sure it is justified somewhere along the lines of "fighting fire with fire."
I'm not sure that the concern over global warming is a total farce. It is a cyclical process, but evaluating whether we are affecting that cycle enough to screw the process seems worthwhile.
Jimmy, you don't get to be a 5-Star if you have the heart of Spartacus or Maximus, just like you don't get to be a successful politian if you can't be bought and sold. "Meet the New Boss" is a cyclical process too...

Re: is "emotionalizing" lying?
well, whether the greenpeace dudes exaggerate or whatever, the sea level is rising and the corals are dieing, and that's going to cause insane trouble. That's my concern.. what the greenpeace dude says, isn't.
What the hell is greenpeace anyway, people mail them money while they're listed as one of the most dangerous organizations. They're membership peaked post 70's, but dropped significantly once they cut down on fold in ads. They're the typical example of "passive participation" organization, where they say "we got 5 billion members", of which 5 billion simply participate by mailing in a check every year. Environmental awareness is important, but it defiinitely shouldn't be carried out by these hoodlums. They're sort of like what a terrorist organization would be, if they had to disguise as a third sector organization. Well, them and PETA.

I think you are upset by Greenpeace actions against Japanese whaling ships.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

What a low, bigoted, ad hominem attack. I guess he must have disagreed with you, hunh?Braincell wrote: I think you are upset by Greenpeace actions against Japanese whaling ships.

I don't understand why he calls them hoodlums. I'm against killing baby seals!

Never heard Greenpeace referred to as "terrorists" before. That is rather harsh. Greenpeace and PETA might seem radical to you but a lot of what they are saying is true.

All i know is that i watched "whale wars" and they seem to be the most incompetent group of people you could possibly imagine. they managed to fail at every single thing they tried.

more absolute lying and "emotionalizing". the SEA ICE is not going anywhere either. in fact, right now it's growing....
it was Goebbels who said
“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”
and
“Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play.”
and
“The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly - it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over”
his buddy Adolph said
“How fortunate for leaders that men do not think.”
and
“All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach.”
and
“It is not truth that matters, but victory”
and
“The victor will never be asked if he told the truth.”
