Is a sae diploma really as bad as some people say? Please give some answers because
I have some plans for my future. What was your experience with this private college or its graduates?

opinions about SAE?
Well ,
a good friend of mine took a sae diploma in milan (italy) it was quite happy with what he learned but for the moment he works "only" for a local tv in rome ,first he only had to launch the audio part of the news and now he "upgraded" to protools but he still edits documentaries instead of mixing bands tunes.
So surely you will learn something but don't think that with a sae diploma you will be quickly engaged as an audio engeneer in front of an SSL console .
Finally ,in my opinion ,you can have all the theory clear in your mind but in the end is your ears that count.
so if you already know how to run a studio(inserts, multitracks, smpte, and all the rest) think twice before spending a lot of money.
This is my humble opinion, by the way we never know ,maybe you'll meet the right person at the right time and your diploma could help...
cheers

Hi,
I spent 2 years in SAE School.
There's some good and bad points about it.
First, it's a School ...it's not suitable to everybody.
There's some "theory" lessons which could be annoying for some people.
And it's very expensive !
BUT...personaly i learn a lot in this school...before that,I really didn't know about sound...
You have access to studio equipement, computer stuff and so on (ahhh...Neve Console...) and usually you are alone or in small group around the devices, very good to experiment things...
I liked this school...
But it didn't find you a job after...A good adress book is better for that !
best regards,
[Huicholity]

hi there,
i´ve made also the diploma.
i´ve been working for ten years in my own studio and got then the chance and the money and the time to do the school. i made the school in the first line for myself. when i try to get a job, i don´t even mention, that i made it, since some people react a little strange. this comes from the former pupil of the school, going out in the world after school, thinking they are the greatest now and know everything and behaving very arrogannt and finaly not getting the job finished properly, since even after the school you are still a beginner without having some years of experience. all in all, if you see it as an personal experience, then go for it. if you want to do a certain job, you should concentrate on that job.
i hope, it helped you.

Hi there
i also did the sae at amsterdam Holland.
Like always u dont learn everything at school.
See it like this if u want to spend the mony , u are a true wannabe engineer.
if u have the diploma u are a true student and u have the balls to stay there and learn.
But when u are done with the school then the real worlds waiting for u , and then the real learning starts and then u will see what good & bad of Sae....
my vision about sae , theory is good , practical cant be teached because u have to find your own way in the audio world.
Good luck in your quest ......
