appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction here.
I've got three pieces of digital gear
Yam DS2416 connected via lightpipe to Scope Pro connected via z-link to A16U (DS & Scope are in seperate machines). Signal routing is from A16 to Scope to DS and back out (basically using the A16/Scope as front end and FX and DS for mixing).
I've got Scope set as Wordclock master and I see a z-link sync light on the A16U and the DS picks up an external workclock on its ADAT interface. Happy days except that when I play audio from my DAW I get loads of clicks in the audio stream!
If I set the DS as master and Scope as slave the sync light goes off on the A16U as it can't see any wordclock signal - I get no clicks however when I play audio.
Am I doing something stupid?

Re: Wordclock blues
Can you connect the A16u via lightpipe instead of z-link? I'm not saying that's the problem, but I don't see any need to use the z-link in your case unless you wanted to run @ 96kHz, which you can't do with the DS2416 anyway. FWIW we had problems here in the past when trying to run Scope & our DS2416 @ 48kHz & encountered the same problem when trying to run 2 x Yam' O1V, Scope & a Noah EX @ 48kHz. No problems at 44.1 though & that's with up to 5 pieces of digital gear interconnected via ADAT.
Btw, I'd probably try to get your A16 running as Master & Scope as slave.

Re: Wordclock blues
Thanks for the post Shroomz.
I want to use the Z-Link if poss as I only need a limited number of analogue in/outs and don't want to tie up 8 channels of ADAT just to get a stereo signal in and back out of the A16U (overkill I know!) - I also want to go straight into Scope as I process after the input (Mojo etc.).
Do you know if wordclock is passed through a device i.e. with three pieces of gear connected in a chain does Wordclock get passed through the middle device to the device at the other end?
Thanks,
Si

Re: Wordclock blues
You can go straight into Scope via Adat just as you do with Z-link, but I understand why you would want to use the z-link if you need the Adat channels for something else.
Yes, the WC signal will be passed through the first slave device to the second one.
