Neutron's advice is important - cleaning the contacts can solve many weird problems that come up.
However, all metaphysics aside, I'm afraid it is possible that a Scope card "dies"... I've lost a Scope Professional last year, it crashed my PC in the middle of a session, and after that it wasn't recognized by the system anymore
If you find that the problem lies with the Luna, you can always send it to Sonic Core for a test. Just contact them, and they'll guide you through the process. Mind you, there is a fee for "hardwarecheck", so be prepared to spend some €€ (postage to and from Germany, testing and repairing)...
