Hi all
I have a PC with a UAD1 card, and an M-Audio Audiophile PCI card installed.
I want to move my P2 6 dsp card from the old pc into this, I am thinking I should remove the Audiophile card and uninstall that, then put in the P2 card, and install (I am on Scope 4.0).
New pc is an Athlon XP 3200+ 2.19 GHz, 1 gig RAM. Windows XP Pro v.2002 SP2.
Actually I bought this PC cos it has a UAD1 and was very cheap!
Software is Sonar 7 Pro, Live 5 both legit. I also have Acid on new PC but that doesn't work well with UAD apparently (haven't tried it much).
I have tried just mixing from the old Scope pc into the new pc, using the stereo outs into the Audiophile ins, but this is a pain and seems a bit stupid.
Q: Would it be possible to use the Audiophile AND the P2 or is that asking for trouble? I have a use for the Audiophile in the old pc (ie it is a swap).
Any tips welcome as I have had probs before with Scope and have a stable system on both pcs now.
(I have thought of using an adat link into the new pc, but again this is just too many pcs...)
Thanks
Geoff
Moving P2 card to new PC with UAD1
Re: Moving P2 card to new PC with UAD1
if you can use the Creative card in the other pc, that would be simplest.
remove the Audiophile, restart, turn off, install the P2, restart and install drivers and Scope. done.
if you want to leave the Soundblaster in, you can do that too, providing you have the slots...

Re: Moving P2 card to new PC with UAD1
It's an M-Audio Audiophile card and I will try it in the old pc.
BUT... the new pc has just gone horribly wrong, some sort of disk problem. Doh!
So is it worth the hassle? Perhaps move the UAD into the old PC.
Sorry this is like a blog... typical how as soon as try some change, it falls apart... must be a moral there somewhere. Scope card is 9 years old and all fine.
