I can't believe the big left turn we are taking by giving banks and businesses money to stay alive. Nobody even asked our permission.
I would like to see more Americans organize to show dislike for these shameless practices.
If someone asks me to join in a protest in public I will gladly go.
These banks use to serve us so well, and now they fuck us at every turn, and won't even send us our cancelled checks and expect everybody to bank online so they can get rid of even more people.
Congress gave CitiBank 400 Billion dollars to ease the credit market and all they are doing is trying to buy up as much stock and bank cert's as they can.
GM.Chrysler & Ford should restructure, but to make the CEO's step down so they can start over w/ Congressional oversight >@$#%$^??? I can't imagine the worst money watchers in the country telling the auto makers what to do, and force the CEO's to step down.
Out of all fairness then, let's clear out about 64 floors of CitBank's management.
I use to feel better about my Government, but thesedays they are leaving a very bad taste in my mouth.

Re: Banks Suck
In the UK something like the first 10% of our bail out went to bonuses and share holders profits...
...anyone else see the problem there (no question mark required).
i mean they fuck us, fuck the economy and then get a bonus for it. Genius - i want that job. And the money has been given with no strings attached, the Government have suggested things they'd like the banks to do, but there's no legal requirement to. So instead of say dividing our billions between all the people with mortgages and removing that debt, the banks get it and start repossessing homes. How short-fucking-sighted is that? Oh this person's a couple of months late on his mortgage because we fucked the economy, he lost his job, let's fuck him up the ass some more and repossess his home while he's down, whilst i count my big fat cat bonus that was partly payed for by him.
Ever heard the phrase 'laughing all the way to the bank'?
Divvy the billions, pay off my mortgage and we don't need no stinking bank!

PS. Can you tell i'm peeved at this situation?

Re: Banks Suck
Believe it or not I belong to 4 Unions still.
Stagehands, Musicians, Iron Workers & Concrete Workers.
I am currently awaiting my Iron Workers Pension when I turn 55 which is a few years away.
Since I was 17 years old, I always would tour 6 months come back and sign up at the Hall, and gig or record at night. It took 30 years to get it at the 6 months a year rate I worked, but I earned it.
I recently enrolled for the early retirement at a reduced rate which means I could go get a check for 24 large and take a 50% cut for a check of 1600 a month. Suddenly this has all changed. I can get a check for 16 large, and have to wait until I am 65 years to collect the same rate !! I won't even be able to fuck by that time, I want my jack now and they have basically told me tough shit. I AM LIVID.
I have burial benefits from the Musicians Union..big fuckin' deal ' eh.
Concrete workers have been the only strong ones who will let me collect about 440 a month when I am 55.
This is all about the Banks, that simple. Our Local down in Vegas is going to stage some rallies and I can't make it. Up here in Reno the Local is weak and full of Mexicans who won't rock the boat, they are the only happy guys around actually. Just having a job is good enough for them. Wait till they try and collect.
We shall see if all of the money I paid the Democrats out of our Political Action Funds get's the favor returned.
The fact that this Govenor from Illinois has stepped up to the Plate is heroic.
I want to see these Banks suffer..........I am usually a mellow guy, and have a wait and see attitude. But that all changed this afternoon when a check bounced and I was told I couldn't get the cancelled checks to start an eviction. That made me mad, so I called my Pension Provider to find this new " change of venue " as they called it.
Thank God My Gear Is Paid For.

Re: Banks Suck
no unions for me - and I've had my chance to join over the past 30 years.
No more credit cards for me either.
If I get laid off I'm good to go for two years on nothin'. Other investments have paid off (thankfully).
fuck the elites that think they own the planet. Just fuck 'em all.

Re: Banks Suck
First time in my life I hear that such a thing is called a left turn....to be strictly faithful to a tradition, a left turn would be the forced nationalization of all the failed banks. That means shelling out the money to protect the accounts and gaining the property of the bank in exchange. I'm not saying that this is what I suggest (although I might...) but this would be a left turn, according to any socialistic conception.XITE-1/4LIVE wrote: I can't believe the big left turn we are taking by giving banks and businesses money to stay alive
Re: Banks Suck
Yeah well that's what's happening.
They can sugar coat it all they want.
Let's see if they use their sudsidiraries to purchase the privately owned newspapers that are going bankrupt from decreasing advertisers.
That form of media is the last of the truly private sector.
Let me explain where this distrust first started.
A dear friend of mine started a lawsuit 4 years ago against a giant re financing corporation. ( bank ).
The said person then recieved a Bancrupcy notice from some family in Texas that had a different name from the owner of the giant refinancing corporation.
That was the fastest Bancrupcy anyone ever heard of.
Prior to the depositions the " Owner " was suddenly a diplomat and sent to the Netherlands as the Ambassador. This is public information BTW for anyone to read.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co ... 01842.html
Amazingly, he died 4 days later and instead of a real diplomat being appointed, his son took over, thanks to some Queen.
At any rate they settled out w/ a subsidirary and instead of recieving a tax free settlement, said person then recieved properties owned by a bank that went out of business, and has new proerties to rent w/o PPTaxes or a single mortgage payment.
After a 4 year battle that was great news, but this is unprecendented. and the story reeks of Bank fraud and funny money.
When a Government starts telling banks how to operate, and auto makers what to build and how to build it we should be very nervous.
The fact that Washington is now in the business of lending the states money for unemployment, etc. Is just a sign of things to come.
The banks never had any strings attached, or Banking Czars assigned to watchover business. But DC wants to send a Czar to watchover every state and business it gives money to?
They are keeping the Unions from organizing nationwide protests by talking about rebuilding the Interstate Highways and infrastructure.
It's a joke, it will never happen.
Our Governments are the Banks now.

It's called a ponzy scheme.
Create a problem that only you have a solution for.
Now we have socialism, and those citizens expecting handouts under the 'nanny state' will be sorely prosecuted under these elitist tactics.
DUMP THE FED!

Re: retirement... there is something called "Self-directed Retirement", which I've been looking into a bit. Don't know if it would fit in your situation. But the theory is to get your retirement under your administrative control.

Re: Banks Suck
As some of you know, in recent weeks in the UK, RBS (the 'Royal Bank of Scotland'), one of THE biggest banks in Europe was bought out with British taxpayers money & essentially nationalised. This step is just one in the beginning part of the creation of a completely state run banking system in the UK. In our future state run banking system, all money borrowed is borrowed from the government & backed up by the taxes paid by the public. This is apparently the only way to ensure that borrowing levels & the creation of debt does not slow down. This direction has been advised by the globalist bankers as the only way to avoid severe economic recession. These advisory bankers do not want the levels of borrowing or creation of debt to slow down. It's not in their 'interest' (pardon the pun). Oh dear, if only the masses would take their heads out of the sand & finally wake up, maybe something could be done about it, maybe not though....

Re: Banks Suck
More like they don't know what's actually going on Stardust. After all, they've believed all along that democracy actually exists & exists for their benefit.

who do you think funds socialism?stardust wrote:its left already when the state helps the capitalists ?
You guys are joking
the capitalists.
capitalists love a nanny state. they can have a monopoly and complete control over the peasants, since the system creates complete dependance to the point of addiction.
who funds the capitalists? (a hint, it's not the stock market)
these bailouts are just a further fleecing of the public. this business model(credit) is being used to permanently pauperize the masses. the central banks withhold credit, causing business which is based on credit to fail. they then extend credit to the governemnt, which offers the public coffers and real property as security, to bail out the business. since more credit is issued than actual wealth exists, the government is soon in default and the bank takes possesion of the collateral(you, me and all our holdings, including water supplies, ports, airways and waves etc.). naturally this can only happen with the consent of the government. the central banks can easily be reigned in and the debt nullified, since it's not based on real wealth anyway, EXCEPT that the same ofrces that own these big international money controllers, have made sure that the government is packed with their people, which is easy, since these same forces that are behind these activities own the great media outlets which are required for mass appeal....
DON'T BLAME THE PUBLIC! there's no way they could have known better. the attack has been scientific.

Nobody here is blaming the public Gary, although it might help significantly if they were awake.
Re: Banks Suck
yes! the public is doomed if it slumbers.
but i'm not accusing anyone. i'm just ranting and raving.

Re: Banks Suck
Probably the words "left" and "socialism" became two empty containers with some color just on the surface that can be filled with whatever....the fact is that those two words are tied to very different historical processes. Now, in the global reality dynamics are not linear anymore, when many different cultures all start to relate each other, the idea of a system, a situation, a way to live that can be defined as "lefty" in a total perspective is an illusion.
Theory is not the same as reality, of course, but there is a degree of deviation after which using words becomes a pure bla bla. For example, defining contemporary China as a socialist or communist country is an absolute absurdity, it is exactly the opposite. The problem is often associated with the simplistic approach that information networks think to adopt in order to sell their product (which is not information, but commercial space). The simplistic approach to information is what brings societies and groups in general to a dualistic vision, us and them, friends and enemies, humans and subhumans that can be happily watched starving on some tv evening special while chewing large bites of pizza and burping for that slice too much....
In that sense the definitions "left" and "right" serve perfectly the purpose of the two teams, where no one is caring about the source of the issues anymore and people are happy to act as sheep.
This is what makes the link of power with the media so special. Media provide that stupidity and superficiality that allows the elites to move the masses like pawns. Buy this, borrow that, need this, read that and at the end kill here, bomb there and even die and be proud of it. Foolish.
So, I would try to stick to a meaning of the words like socialism as it is was intended by those who invented them, rather than from those who just used it as a label. Then you will find that there are several meanings, by Marx, by Proudhon, by Rosa Luxembourg or several others, none of which mentions such donations to the private banking system the existence of which is not even considered as recommendable.
The worst crime committed by Bush, if you heard him speak, was against language, against the value and the depth of the words. Probably no one spotted this, but I wouldn't exclude that one of the reasons of Obama's victory is that he gave back to the words a bit of their lost dignity.

Re: Banks Suck
alfonso, i would agree with you wholeheartedly, if you wouldn't include RHETORIC from elitists such as marx(a rothschild employee and blood relation. two large checks written by Nathan Rothchild to Marx for the purpose of promoting socialism have been on display in the British Museum, donated to the museum by museum trustee Lord Lionel Walter Rothschild himself) or other "popular" leaders provided to you to assure you of "choice". also, obama isn't going to clarify ANYTHING. he still hasn't clarified the name "Barry Soetoro" or his indonesian citizenship. how can he clarify the language? nope, there will be even more newspeak to come, newspeak that sounds like "sustainable" and "responsibility" that will only mean "eugenics". Socialism is the ideology of choice for capitalists as it includes a central government with dictitorial powers(ostensibly for the ignorant masses' "good").
left/right capitalist/socialist/communism have ALWAYS been words used for no reason other than to deceive the public and avoid true revolution, thus maintaining the same power structure. if you see how these movements and titles have played out in the real world, and who has paid the bill for these movements and ideologies, you'll always find the same families. democracy is the same. there has NEVER been a plan to transfer power from elite hands to the common people, except in the commoners' addled imaginations.
this may or may not be a big bummer, i'm just pointing out that it is so, regardless of point of view.
