Which USB-Hub? Any Recommendations?

Post by helldriver »

Hi guys, since my magma ec34 card connector steals me one usb port i´ll have to go with an usb hub to extent my existing usb ports. is there any usb-hub out there that is recommendable for using together with an usb midi I/O breakoutbox? for the future i want to run this usb hub additionally with a Bitstream 3X and a Waldorf blofeld (both have usb connections and i´ve read that there could be problems using such midi stuff with usb-hubs).
I guess it should be a self powered ubs hub.
but anyways any recommendations? are there any usb-hubs that are a total no go for usb midi stuff?
thx helldriver

does blofeld have audio over USB like the virus TI? in that case it should have its own port on the motherboard and not use a hub. if its only midi then you should be fine.

This one is very good and has an external power supply that shoves the data through the pipeline with zero hassles.
It's only 10 USD and allows to disable all USB Ports in the device manager.
Sounds strange but the external PSU will shove the data through a disabled port also, but I leave one enabled just in case.
