"i am tired having dual os system"

The solution is simple, and you know it :) Or do you have specific applications that demands vista?

I agree - we have waited far too long for the update (now 6 months)
The wait for Vista drivers has been ridiculous IMHO

i agree that its been a while, but what you are requesting is 64bit drivers, not "vista drivers" (there is vista 32 and 64, as there is XP 32 and 64). 32bit Vista has the same limits as 32bit XP.

if i am not wrong the vista drivers will work on 64bit as well. i read it here in z.
and if not that would be nonsense because the reason for going to vista is only the 64bit os.
i am not intersed at all in the 32bit vista.

anyway, drivers for vista 32bit that will work on 64bit will be i guess ok, even if it will be half a solution.

to be honest i do not understand how soniccore can be that slow in this aspect, while for example there are tons of other companies big or small, including all different kind of productuts, printers.. , field recorders,... vga cards... cameras...music, video players....internet players..... that provide us with all different os drivers.

the win2k of 2000 is.................. i don't know :-? :-? :-? almost 10 years old??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe if they were smart, they'd just go directly for Windows 7 drivers.

would you mind to ask the same question to Native Instruments ?
none of their products runs under a 64bit OS, and (you guessed it) Kontakt is among them - probably the most frequently sublicensed sample player engine ;)
we know that SonicCore is a rather small enterprise in headcount, but NI with > 100 employes ... :-? :D

If you use Quantum Leap Pianos and Cubase, make sure you have Cubase 4.1 or it wont work in 64bit . Ableton Live doesnt work with Vista 64 as far as i can see, so your options are sonar 6.2 or higher, FL Studio 7 or higher and running it standalone.

Just a heads up.

i have loadod native istruments plugs in vista 64.
ableton loads normally as well.

i guess that if scope could be installed, it would work normaly

i only have creamware cards(scope pro and pulsar2), so i need their drivers to make the setup.
i don't know if and which of my plugs will run normally or under complatibility mode, but without scopes drivers i cannot make the setup.

Arcadios, I didn't really check all NI products - I just stumbled across the 'feature' when looking up some details about Kore and remembered this thread.
None of Kore, Reaktor, Kontakt, GuitarRig3 and Absynth will work under 64bit, some may work in a 32 bit environment, but that's something you're not interested in... ;)

Native Instruments is a fairly big company (in their domain) and still they are not able 'to be ready' (as you call it) 2 years after the release of Vista... these things are not as simple as they seem to...
You may think that you need just a driver - but that driver needs the base software to run in 64 bit mode, and that means to recompile the whole package.
Even if there wouldn't be a single line in the code to be changed (which is of course not the case) just the version change in the compiler package will introduce a ton of sh*t going wrong.
After all M$ never ever released a piece of software with less errors than it's predecessor... :D
That's the very problem NI is facing, too

cheers, Tom

and not to be pessimistic, in fact i prefer the philosophy of creamware, making high quality products that last for years, like all of cw plugs do, but in the case of os compatibilities, maybe they should have been more flexible.

I agree that 64bit is the way to go for loading many VSTi's and performing w/o any further need to touch the DAW till nights end.
But XP32 w/ the 3GB switch loads tons of instruments, and if you are recording the need to have more loaded than a live performer seems to be an uneeded luxury IMHO.
I am frustrated that developers get enslaved by Apple & M$ everytime they think they need to create more revenue, but I think back to my hardware days when I bought my first sampler. My immediate thought was I will need more, and yes I had racks of them bastards and was loading 2 or 3 while I was playing, like a frickin' Octypuss.
I am way past that stage ankyuvarymush, and have better sounds and faster access to those sounds.
I also have the need for 64bit as memory needs have grown, but I can't see why for recording purposes one MUST have 64bit.

Someday I hope we have a Soniccore O.S. where wrap around shells can be made and the need for M$ and Apple are eliminated. Otherwise, SC will remain a slave forever.
A good example is the Linux based Receptors that can play VSTi's w/o Apple & M$ constantly ( deceptively ) saying it's time to upgrade. They load way more than OSX and XP on similar 2GB rigs. I do believe they have a 4GB version, but have only seen the 2GB version in action live. They are a major lifesaver for the VSTi guys, but then there's that low budget sound that they have which renders them lame in my book. They should have built those w/ a riser card and a Scope Pro. :D

i don't think there was much that could be done about it, at least from the point of veiw of the current team. they ARE working on it though, afaik...
