Asio issues are driving me crazy!!!!

Post by broken_halo »

hey all , I just started this asio style of recording , making the switch from direct sound. As well I switched from Sonar 7 to cubase sx 3 due to reliability issues. The problem is , I set up an asio2dest with 16 inputs , the sets up up 8 stereo channels with Left and Right inputs.

So in cubase , I want to record my tracks in mono , but it is very picky on which channels it wants to record and I have no clue why. For example , I have a 4033 cl going into input *3 on my stm 48 , and I have its output as D Left 3 ----->going into asio2dest 2L because for some reason each channel going into cubase is mono. But sometimes , it chooses not to even acknowledge a signal coming in *sigh* , its hard for me to get screenshots for this , but it does not help much , the routing is correct as far as I can see.

So my main questions are ; is there a way for my asio to only have mono inputs instead of stereo??? Are there setting I do not have right in concern with Cubase , its driving me crazy so any help would be greatly appreciated.

a tereo channel in cubase will use a pair of asio channels(like 1 l,r), but a mono track can choose the input such as 3l. it works 100% for sure like it should. if it doesn't, there's something else wrong with your computer. is your copy of cubase cracked?

Go to 'VST connections' in Cubase & either re-label the default L&R channels or right-click, select add buss/mono, then re-label.
