Post by paulrmartin »

Hi everybody!

I have entered a contest open to canadians to compose the new theme for our hockey national anthem. At the link above is my tune. You need to register to vote(just say your come from here don't check any of the boxes and send. click the link when you get the activation email which is usually instantaneous).

Please leave comments and vote for me.

It's a cheezy little tune but I believe it's highly sports orientated...

Let me know what you think!

P.S.: I apologise to those to whom I sent this message as an email who might have mistaken it for a viral attack ;)

Glad To Help.....................I got my ass kicked everytime I played up in Ottawa back last century. Hockey is definately best played by dwellers of the Artic Circle. I was singing the Blues everytime I returned each summer as a child back to the hockey camp run by Noel Picard and the St. Louis Blues.

Good Luck.............Mastered In Scope. Canadian Hockey Anthem?...............Coolness. :D

I gave it 5 stars. One guy said it sounds American. Now that's an insult! :)
What's the competition like?

Well, most of the stuff sounds like crap, but one tune in particular is way up on my list of potential winners...

There's even a Punjabi entry, apparently hilarious

When I start to see signs on the border in ancient Sanskrit like they use in the Mahabharata, and the Ramayana,...I will become quite nervous.

Good Luck Pauly.

hey, I just voted, and I'm not sure what happened... it shows a 2.5, just right in the middle, and I can't change it anymore... did I click wrong? Sorry if I did. Anyway, great work. I'm not sure if there was a particular reason why the themes seem a little on the sparse side, I was wondering if it was a technical one, since it will be used with title rolls, voice overs etc. But the power is all there! Power to the brass!
