This is just with my ety ER4S earphones. First of all, I think the voice performance is top notch. Not that I'm a specialist in opera singing.. But the compressed piano seems to push forward quite a bit.. I'd take it easy on the compression , and push it pianos back a bit more in the reverb field (a little more wet, less dry). You might also be able to throw in some ER to push it back, without mucking it up in reverb. Also lower the pianos a bit. If I adjust main for vocal, the pianos are too loud.
I'm not sure what the common practice in classic is, but the mid bass in piano also seems to be draining some power from the vocals. After you push back the pianos, you may want to give the voice some mid lows to pull it closer. For me, I'd imagine the voice being on top, and the piano being at the foundation, with a bit of distance in between. That sort of separation. Reverb sound good to me.

Whoever is singing has an incredible voice. I think the human voice when properly trained is the most dynamic instument.
Thank you for sharing this mp3.
I can only imagine this performance's beauty in VDAT.
Oh BTW, the Pianist's accompaniment was a display of how to listen while performing. Very nice ineed.
I can imagine whoever will be auditioning this recording is looking for a very dry take, which means no time based FX other than the natural ambience of the mic placement on the Piano, and the natural sound of the room / space, it was recorded in.
It must be incredible fun remixing in Scope with this.
I personally would love to sneak in a quality DSP reverb on her voice when she is at her lowest volume to add even more distance, then as she climbs in her volume peeks, back it off. I know this is unorthodox but it would give her voice an even larger sinse of distance, and would just be lots of fun IMO.
If you have the time, do more variations for us, as I am fascinated by the quality of the vocals, as well as the performance.
Sure I am a synth nut, but was trained as a Concert Pianist, so I appreciate the commitment and time it took to sound this good.
BRAVO !!

Typical of a classically trained musician.
I am sure her teachers have pushed her hard because they saw and heard her talent. If they were traditionalists, they would hardly give her good comments. During a jury, they do not clap or smile. I have to admit, the pressure is enormous.
At her first recital, the audience will clap and that will surely take care of all confidence issues. Most performers get tears in their eyes, as it's the first time they get applause from a large crowd.
Then there's jerk-off's like me who after bowing didn't walk off like some sheep being guided off stage, but did the 3 Stooges self-congraulatory clenched shakes over both shoulders as I jumped off of the front of the stage to sit beside my Grandfather. Hell I was only 5 and terribly influenced by the 3 Stooges, and Little Rascals.
She has enormous potential but probably suffers from the pressure of other female vocalists that are the most compettitive creatures the Lord ever concieved. I noticed the glaring eyes with false smiles at every recital I ever did. I am sure as they smiled they were praying that I would fall on my face, I always dissappointed them.
Please..................some more recordings, and possibly a Impressionato where she can do a duet of herself that you overdub.
Could You Do This For Us?
This thread should contain all styles and all talents.
It is a place of sharing and critiqueing, to not post any re mixes or self recorded music is a waste of excellent DSP power.
I have embarassed myself numerous times here, and will continue to do so.
But Noémie in my eyes could never do that even on her worst day.
BRAVO !!

A beautiful voice, and a nice song, BUT I personally have a problem with
this way of singing, it´s very common and comes with the territory..
To me, this is abuse of vibrato on the vocals. Somehow, it seems to detract from
both the beauty of the voice and the melody. A nice vibrato comes at the very end of the phrase, IMO.
Whenever I´m in a certain mood, I go to youtube and do a search for
"Nessun Dorma" and see what gives..
A very fine interpretation is Jussi Björlings, and he gets away with a lot of vibrato, and I can still enjoy it...

Re: Babbino
probably true. but please do not tell her about the vibrato
she'll get to that soon i guess, on her own when her confidence builds up. but meanwhile back at the ranch, i don't dislike it. it draws some savage landscape to the song. we are working on another mix that underlines reverb on the whole thing to get it more listenable, and try to smooth it out a bit. please stay seated
thanks again

thanks again
