Giant WAVES of INCOMPETENCE surge across the land

Post by zangsta »

I dedicate this post to the :x US post-service, :x
that managed to fuck up an easy delivery, from me to Jimmy..
It´s from Godlikeproductions.com, where I spend some time every day..

Surges of incompetence sweep across the land as stupid shit happens everywhere...
no one counts back change correctly any more;
they just hand you a pile of money.
There's errors in billing -- they expect YOU to document to them why your bill is incorrect.
They make appointments with you and fail to show up or call.
They change your oil and leave out a quart -- oops.
You discover their incompetence and bring back items for exchange
and you have to pass through security and wait for an hour to get a box of Tic-Tacs taken off your bill that you never bought.
The "Letter Carrier" leaves your mail all up and down your street to whomever she pleases...
and you get a massive bill or your credit card is suspended because you never got the bill.
Your insurance is cancelled without reason or notice...

HELP!!!!

The sweeping waves of incompetence are now a TSUNAMI and threatening to become not waves but a SEA OF STUPIDITY. :o

I remember when I was dating a Japanese girl, we would pass a bank for instance and the giant clock on the outside wall would be way off and she said "This would never happen in Japan." Lately I have been having problems with the postal service and credit card company that never happened before. My suspicion is that when a mistake is made, nobody gets in trouble or even yelled at. I think they don't really care about customers anymore. If I can't record audio in Cubase from my Scope card at 24 bits, Sonic Core doesn't give a damn. I'm just a customer. They only care about their next big project. I'm not one of their friends. The answer is to buy the next Scope platform? BullSh*t!

That´s basically an echo of Jimmy´s comment on our problems.

The post here has gotten expensive, and fewer offices are to be found...
but trust me, they always find me, in spite all the faulty adresses, names etc on
the packages I receive.

well, I think the problem is the illusion of independence. I see it abused all over the US. The simple gimmick is, if something's screwed up, and if you have the means to fix it, YOU fix it. If you don't, it then becomes YOUR responsibility. Because you LET it be screwed up. See what happened? The responsibility some how got trasfered to you.

I see this happen all too often in the US. In certain cases, this is true independence, but you can see that it can easily be abused to cover up neglegence. Same as the postal service. They only open up 2 windows of the 10, and place some of the worst educated workers I have ever seen in the world to man these stations. So the solution is, they also have a dozen computer based mail processors where you can do everything you need to do at home, through the internet, and just drop it off. (so they give YOU the ability to solve the solution = do their goddamn work)

Sounds like a convenience? Ha, they just put you in a bad position, so you'd be forced to do their job. It's another responsibility gimmick, and it's just rediculous. How can you blaringly state... "I DON'T WANT TO WORK", and still get away with it? It's one of the more strange aspect of the US.

You can tell I'm quite pissed off at this. I don't think it's because I'm Japanese, tho. Sure, I've seen postal service handled much better elsewhere (basically, everywhere else), but even without comparing, I think lots of US people are pissed off about it too.

I don't think this is a new thing tho. I think stupidity / lack of education is a chronic problem in the US. I think it's made to be that way by design. A smart group of consumers would be the worst case scenario for marketing. The last thing they need is an army of well educated illegal immigrants. If they move out of the low end of the workforce, the country will collapse.
