Producers -- Got beats? Get Heard, Get Paid

Post by loopymusic12 »

Producers -- have a catalog of tracks and don't know what to do with them? Check out www.musicplacements.com . They will listen to your tracks for potential commercial placements. They guarantee at least 5 A&Rs will hear approved tracks within 7 business days! Major labels including G-unit, Atlantic, Warner, Universal, Violator, DTP, Byrd Gang, Def Jam, and more. They have 5 tracks by three different producers on the next Jim Jones album... these guys are serious.

In fairness, at least its music related and not the mobile phone shit we occasionally get. Even taken care to post in the off topic forum!
There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. These are things we don't know we don't know.

you can't be serious! A call out to independent beat makers to submit work so that the producers can pick the best from the collective, and reap the benefits while the tracks get bought at mediocre prices? That's soooo cooool! Keeping it real by destroying the fidelity of the creative chain is so cutting edge.

This is definitely exploitative spam. He's been posting this on pretty much all music-related forums.

I think 'spam' is a bit harsh :P

It does lean towards exploitation, but then does that not sum up the music industry in a nutshell?

in the "how does it work" section of their site they even say there's a 30$ fee to be payed for each A&R rehearsal... are they insane? they want money so ppl will listen to the music, even? that's the music industry mocking the creatives it is based on in its purest form... greedy frauds!

well, hiphop as an industry is really painful to watch. The average consumer, as I see on the subways every day, and everywher in manhattan, is not really your A+ student who knows what's going on. It's the most weak minded, miseducated, socially unrecoverable people... who are, yes.. weak minded. Did I remember to say they were weak minded? And mind you, "weak minded" in the US is by far the worst I have personally seen, in any country I've been.

And this whole beats for sale thing (not just this site, but everywhere) preys on these people, who don't even have the brains to get their lives straight. Ok, i'm not very politically correct here, but who cares, it's the truth. This whole "anyone can make it big because those guys were from ghettos" crap is so sickening, they should make it a controlled substance. The cinderalla story only brainwashes the weakminded even more, as if they weren't already over spending because they can't understand the concept of saving. The whole situation is just so pathetic. Maybe it's just NY, but I kind of doubt it..

Maybe they should stop flashing images of money, wealth, pimped up cars, sex, and teach them a thing or two about the real world. I've spoken to a person who did not know what the Euro is. It's just insane.

it's by design.

what do you do with your slaves after you free them because you don't need them before you kill them? you certainly don't want to teach them first.

What a laugh.

Atlantic / ATCO hasn't had an A & R department for 20 years.

Any major record label doesn't need to search for talent.

All of my old crew are involved in the industry, and have been active since the '70s'

Word of mouth is the way, and it has been for years.

Besides, even if one was to have a good manager to open the door, the whole package must be showcased, not some shitty mp3.

Contract signing,Video, production costs, and marketing are all major labels handle.

It's all about your contacts, copyrights, and management.

But the above provided entertainment was appreciated. Perhaps the chap gets a nickel for every hit the site gets.

I bet they even have business cards.............. :D

Don't know what the big deal is here. Anyone stupid enough to sign up for something like this deserves what they get. Or I could be completely wrong.

About the cash for clicks issue... that's how a mass area of the www works, so if you don't like it, don't use the net or just use the net without clicking any links.

no big deal at all.

no big deal about any con man. if people are stupid enough to believe the con, they deserve what they get, especially old ladies signing away their homes or sagging pants fools who know nothing. in fact, if i kick you in the teeth, don't complain. you were stupid enough to let me get close enough to kick you.

That's fightin' talk Gary

There's always someone making money out of the fact that you simply exist as an 'individual' ...It's practically unavoidable, unless you're a bushman living off the radar. Even then though ...

Yes, I think I know what you mean Gary. For instance, I wouldn't mind a friend or family member making money from selling an unwanted gift I'd given them. Likewise, you probably couldn't care less if a complete stranger bought a guitar from you ...then sold it some time later for a massive profit. You might even be happy for them. Then again, neither is an example of exploitation. I guess it just depends on the circumstances. :D

For instance you probably wouldn't be too happy with your ISP if they sold information regarding your browsing habbits or your credit card company did likewise with your purchasing info and all you get in return is SPAM and junk mail

That sort of thing happens all the time. Even the government is getting in on the act. They might say they didn't mean to leave your personal info on the bus/train etc. but it still happens and you can be sure it's no accident.

Some ISP's are actually openly admitting it these days. Then they have the cheek to warn you about identity theft/fraud

Getting back to the point in question ...Personally I don't mind people making a couple of cents because I click a link on the web. I just take that for granted nowadays. If the link itself isn't misleading, I don't really see the problem.
