2nd card causes crackles

Post by cm sounddesign »

Hi all,
I have a Pulsar2 Card for a long time and it worked fine until I bought an old Pulsar Card and connected it to the other.
Since than I got clicks and crackles especially when my graphic card does a job like opening a new window or when I got a large zoom in Cubase and I play the song I got a click whenever the songpointer moves forward and the window changes. It's quite noisy(Clicks and crackles) when I work on the Scope Surface and open a device or even just move a little window.

I got a ASUS P4P800 deluxe Motherboard and Win XP pro. working with cubase 4 and Scope 4.0
My music PC is no Internet PC no office just MUSIC.
I did all the standart tweaks already.
For me it sounds like some sync problems between the two cards or sync problems in general but as I said: it worked fine with one card and I changed nothing when I plugged in the second Card.

Can anybody help me?
That would be really great!

Thanx.

Is the graphics card PCIe?

You can try turning the performance slider down in desktop properties>settings>advanced>troubleshooting

no PCIe.
AGP!

I toggeled the slider down but it changed nothing...
thanx for the tip anyway

In Cubase I recognized that the ASIO PeakMeter is flickering really fast and makes high jumps on and on.

You could try another pci slot for the second card. :)

Make sure that none of your pulsars is sharing an irq with the agp-card. try reseating the cards.
good luck :)

sound like an irq shared with one of the scope cards. have you checked for that?

i was thinking abour reseating not resetting the cards. imean : put them into other slots. maybe you'll find some that not shared by any other necessary device

just disable the shared usb controller in the device manager. the controller in quesion has a name like 2YE7 or E1H5 or similar. make sure you disable the correct one. problem solved, all or most of your usb ports will still function.
