When you reinstall Windows 2000, when it asks if you want to install a SCSI device, press f7 istead of f6, and it will install your computer in "standard PC" mode (not ACPI!) You'll know your ocmputer is in Standard PC mode when you press Win-Key+{Pause}, go to the Device Manager, and you'll not see ACPI computer as teh first listing. This is important!
After that just install the 2k beta like the rest of us and email Creamware with your known bugs to get this up and running.

NT uses a kernel, like any other serious os (MS calls it Hardware Abstraction Layer = HAL). There is one with the ability for ACPI powermanagement, installed whenever the mainboard is capable. The Standard PC setting does not contain this. Anyway, main reason for CW to recommend the standard kernel is that this one does not share IRQs. The ACPI kernel has all devices usually with IRQ 9. If you change the kernel to standard all devices that do not use IRQ 9 have to be reinstalled with their appropriate IRQs.
