Luna 2 routing problem

Hi can someone help me to understand the Scope Luna 2 routing .

I have a Yamaha 01x i am using it as a DAW control for Cubase 3 .
I am using digital in and out on the Yamaha into the Scope soundcard and this is playing back sound from Cubase, Wavelab and general sound from the computer.

My keyboard and mics are plugged into the the Yamaha Mic/Line inputs i can see the levels going into the mixer but i am unable to record into cubase i have set up the right inputs in Cubase for recording but getting no signal.

How do i route the signal from the mixer into the Scope luna2 soundcard to the mixer of the soundcard, then into Cubase so i can record into Cubase.
I know i can do it because it worked before.

All this ASIO Source and ASIO Dest jus confuses me ?

Hi Thanks
I am trying to get my mic signal from the H/W mixer which i can see and hear it going into the mixer into cubase ,i dont have a seperate H/W ADAT .
Is the Yamaha 0x1 reprasented as an ADAT module in the routing window and if it is how do i route it into the STM 1632 mixer in the routing window and then into cubase.

You need the ADAT extention.
Without you must use analog inIout

if you dont have the adat connecting plate then you can only record 2 channels at a time, since the luna2 has 1 stereo ( 2 mono) in/out. ( The adat add on plate is something that the luna2 doesnt normaly have, you need to have a special little add on plate for ADAT...wether you already have it or not, i dont know..),

If you dont have adat, you take analog out of the yamaha console ( master out?) and hook it up to luna2.... but then again, thats only 2 channels!
IF you have the adat connections on the add on plate for the luna2, then you connect you yamaha console to the luna via adat cables.
You then open up the scope platform and:
add a Adat source
add a mixer of your choice.
add ASIO Dest.
connect the outputs of the adat source to the inputs on the mixer. ( i am referring to stuff going on in scope here... not your real yamaha mixer!)- doubleclick the mixer, play a keyboard/tap a mic (connected to your hamaha console), and see the meters moving on the scope mixer.

When you have done this, you have sound coming INTO the soundcard. Now you need to route it out again, and into cubase:

connect the mixer outputs to Asio dest inputs ( double click the asio dest module to change how many channels the asio input has.)

Now open up cubase.
switch to ASIO scope asio driver( I think that is tha name..)
Check your connection settings(in/out settings) within cubase.

Now it shoudl be working! if not.. post a screenshot of your scope window.

hope that helps!

Hi
Thanks i dont have an add on ADAT plate ,is it something you have to buy ,i dont see anything on the back of my computer etc , I will get one if i know what i am looking for , but at the moment i only want to record on thing at a time,eg vocal, then keyboard so i will try what you have suggested.

I feel that i need an idiots guide to this routing system in the scope window

The 01X is Yamaha's mLan mixer/interface/control surface that uses the mLan Firewire style interface. I'm not convinced that there is an ADAT option, but it does have SPDIF and Optical for 2 channel i/o. You can connect the 01X to the Luna via the SPDIF input then use the Scope SP-DIF source routed to an ASIO2 destination into Cubase. You'll only be able to record 2 channels at a time as the19thbear said.

the asio modules are the i/o JACKS for your sequencer.

they must be in the routing window with the proper number of ports before opening cubase.

adn by the way.... you can always make screenshost by pressing the "prtsc" og "print screen" button on your keyboard ( upper left corner), then open up windows paint for instance, right click and click paste. A copy of your desktop will then be pasted into the blank image :)
